one would think that with a name like "Corona Extra", you might get a real beer..JustDucky wrote:Corona light is one of the funniest beers around because it's irrelevant. Corona Extra is light enough. I think people drink Corona Light because it says Light and a lot of people just like light beers for some reason.
BUT - it does taste better than ALL of the lite beers in the world and I'd rather drink a Corona Light than....ah, you get the point.
You think Corona is better than Bud? Yikes...JustDucky wrote:JB was drinking Bud in the video? I never really looked. But obviously it wasn't Corona. Ugh. So he's playing in to the corporate monster. I always thought Bud was something you buy when you don't have enough money to get a good beer, the other choices are even worse or you can't find decent bottled water.
Bud (or any of the other usual lame A-B products) and Jimmy Buffett music will never go hand in hand with me. Let's hope, at least, that the Land Shark or whatever it's called will at least be better than Bud. That would be the only exception but it's no promise either.
I think Jimmy started tasting his old sponsor's product, Coronatrojan_sixtyone wrote:You think Corona is better than Bud? Yikes...JustDucky wrote:JB was drinking Bud in the video? Who else is REALLY annoyed by "beer elitists"? The "If you don't drink lagers and dark, foreign beers you can't possibly know anything about beer."
Really rubs me the wrong way. Same as with people that say if you don't like the Beatles or Incubus that you can't possibly know good music.
As I said, I'm not calling anyone out, it's just a general comment.
Amen. People should realize we're all different--with different tastes and sensibilities--and that needs to be respected. If we all agreed with each other about what's good and bad the world would be a pretty boring place!MalibuRumGirl wrote:
I agree it's an individual call on these things. Whatever floats your boat is what's right for you.
it's more like "you need to drink ales and dark beer..." lagers are just a way to spend money on overpriced water.trojan_sixtyone wrote:I don't want to p*** anyone off, but...

Either way, two of my five roommates this past fall were beer elitists and it got really, really obnoxious after a while. I got to the point where I just said "You know what, I'm working my butt off constantly and I just want a little refreshment, and I don't care if it has a rich, wheaty taste or a full texture; I just want something that tastes good TO ME and that'll give me a buzz." I feel the same way about wine enthusiasts and cigar enthusiasts: it may mean a lot to you, but not to everyone, so don't make them feel bad for not caring as much as you. That's my opinion anyway.RinglingRingling wrote:it's more like "you need to drink ales and dark beer..." lagers are just a way to spend money on overpriced water.trojan_sixtyone wrote:I don't want to p*** anyone off, but...
