Never been to Kauai either but it is on the list for next time. Check out
http://www.svchawaii.com/kauai_activities.htm for some ideas. I can not vouch for the operators of this web site either way, but it looks like a good starting point to get some ideas. Not even sure of you can book things through them if you are not staying either. My parents who are between 57 and 61 Tubed the Ditch and loved it. They did it through the cruise they were on.
Have a blast

Kauai is much more laid back than Oahu or Maui, and it is the most beautiful, IMHO. It really is a place to just sit back and chill. Check out Wailua Canyon, Hanalei Bay, Hanalei Lighthouse, and the fern grotto.

I have to agree with JonesBeach, Kauai is so much peaceful and laid back then Oahu and Maui and to me that is the appeal. The downside is there is very little in the way of night life but the beauty of the island and slower pace more then offsets that.
I would suggest doing the North Shore by zodiak or other boats. It is an amazing sight and the smaller boats can get you to spots that you would miss otherwise.
Go to Kauai and have fun!

Diving in the "tunnels" is spectacular.....
And of course Hanalei... the home of Puff the Magic dragon!
Do not miss the Pacific Grand Canyon...Waimea Canyon !! Zodiac or by air is the way to see it....

Or hike it if you're feeling really adventurous and in shape.

If you do go hiking, consider hooking up with a local hiking club. Some of the routes can be treacherous, and local knowledge can both keep you out of trouble and point you in the direction of spectacular scenery.
