Sail on Mr. President. :(

I found out by reading my the headline on my newspaper today...
Image
If you ask me, it's pretty sad the War in Iraq got more attention than the death of a former president. I don't care if teh number reached one million, we are at war, do the editors of Newsday expect us to lose zero soldiers in Iraq??? Way to respect the former leader of the free world.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

It's just a tragic number. It wouldn't have made a difference to me if they said 3 soldiers died today. It's very tragic, but not deserving of front page over President Ford's death.

The only reason I came up with was that he died late yesterday, and the writers had only limited time to properly honor him.

Interesting, I guess the image switches with each day's front page.

Newsday sucks. The best thing about Newsday was Ray Barone and he's a fictional character.

The Sports section and Walt Handelsman are pretty good. :)
But the news section is crap and I don't even read the editorials.

GET OUT. Wow. I'm re-evaluating my opinion of him/his presidency ... have been watching the news since his passing ... also a lot on NPR ... nice guys may not be elected President, but we are better off for having him take the reins after Nixon.
Gentilly ... 42 years is a long time to wait .... a Northeast Texas woman can hope.
My love is an anchor tied to you, tied with a silver chain.

President Ford was not only a man of courage and honor who healed the nation in a troubled time at his own peril: he was also the only Eagle Scout to become President of the United States. Sail on President Ford, we could use ya...

Just a note. I got the SNL season 1 box set for Christmas and I started to watch each episode. So far every show has poked fun at then President Ford. It doesn't seem mean spirited just funny.
