WELCOME TO DELANEY!!!!!!!

I have been lacking something for 2 and 1/2 years....

Fritz left me and crossed that rainbow bridge on June 7th, 2004. Yes, we have 2 little furry girls but loosing my own was horrible. Savannah Jane, the beagle, is Jimmy's and Penelope Rose, the cocker spaniel, is Mollie's. I love them both but they belong to the kids...not me. I have had a doggy size hole in my heart, needing to be filled. Then there was James, aka Hubby. He is leaving for school in 4 weeks and will be gone for 10 weeks. I told him I want my own dog. No, I NEED my own dog. He finally broke down. He came home from work and said "After all you do for this family and all you want is another dog, okay..."

I began the calling...
I am not a AKC kinda pet person. A dog to love is fine. Papers are not important as long as the pup is healthy. A Vet recommended a family in the next town with a litter of Beagle/Jack Russell puppies. I called her. I was so excited. I talked to James and we got directions. Needless to say, I fell in love. She can't come home for 4 more weeks, the same weekend James leaves for school. She is 12 days old. She's brindle on her saddle, white bone on her head and a white flag on her tail like a beagle. She has the flopped over ears and chubby body like a Jack Russell. I picked them all up and looked at each, right in the face. I asked her " Are you Delaney?"...she began to whimper. Then I said "Can I come back in a few weeks and take you home?"...she yelped! I guess if you ask a pup a question, you get an answer.

Once again, I can't get a photo to post but if Des comes on, maybe she can.

On January 26th, Delaney Buffett Thomas will come home. I am SO excited. After a few major let downs this holiday season, I'm glad this one is working out and I get my PUPPY!!!
I'll post more as soon as I know more...I'm SO happy. I know I can not ever replace Fritz. He was my little old man beagle and I miss him terribly but having a little girl all mine will make it a little easier!

So I hear...but slow pups are not for me. I love playing with the dogs. Mollie and I take Savannah and Penelope out a lot to just play ball, or frisbee...or just run...

I've got two jack russells and I'd never have anything else.....they are a bundle of energy, but just the greatest dogs.....if you like quick and playful, you are definitely headed in the right direction!!!!!! My two would play until their hearts explode......I'm not sure I've ever seen them tire out!

A new baby in da house ! Your story about how you chose Delaney reminds me of how we chose Trixie. Of a litter of 6, she's the only one who followed us to the car the first time we went and looked at the puppies. She bit Gary's shoestring, and pulled on it, so we chose her !
I can't wait to meet her !! She will be good company when James leaves for school !

Trixie, like Fritz had a way of letting you know...as Delaney does. Fritz was at a no-kill shelter and I went with Mom and Jimmy (he was 2). After we walked Fritz, I was deciding but had pretty much made up my mind on him. I asked him "Fritz, are you going home with me?"...he picked the keys up out of my Mom's purse and dropped them on the ground. He was headed home...

I woke up this morning thinking about my baby girl...in a box in a shed...I can't wait to have her home with me...Let the spoiling begin!

I took my mom our to see Delaney yesterday. She has her eyes all the way open now and is more playful. She's 17 days old now. Just 3 and 1/2 more weeks until she comes home.

It happens to be 2 days before Hubby leaves for school

...he'll be gone for 3 months...that pup will be SO SPOILED by the time he comes home!!!

We are headed back out to the "birth family" to see my baby. My Jim hasn't seen her yet so Jim, Mollie and I will be going this time. I'll take pix with the camera and not just my phone.

More New Mommy of the pup news this evening!!

2 weeks and 5 days until she comes home! I bought her a collar yesterday. It's pink with black skull and cross bones on it. The eyes and nose on the skull are hearts! Yes she is a pirate....Delaney the Wench!

I feel your pain, jimolliemom, I lost my sweet baby (Miss Niki) on Feb 8th.........and there is still a huge hole in my heart. So happy that YOUR heart, will soon be complete once again.

We had the best visit!!! She is whining now and I put her down on a piece of ply wood to see her walk...aka...waddle. She fussed. Then she looked up at me and fussed louder adn louder until I picked her back up! SPOILED ALREADY!

Then I had to put her back in the box with her momma and 9 brothers and sisters. TAHT was tough. But, I'll go visit again next weekend and one more after that...then she can come HOME!

I REALLY need some help. I have Delaney's pix posted under the Photo Gallery, under Parrothead...something. She's pix one and two, added today and I can't figure out how to move them to here...any help???? Ideas??? Wanna just do it for me??? That'd work and ONE DAY I'll figure it out.
