You have to go to Duke's for the historical value and look around even if you don't spend a penny.
Go to the Lewer's St Fish Co that's sort of in a basement and have Shrimp on tortellini with creamy pesto sauce.
Check out the local musician listings and go see Chris Murphy. If you like Peter Meyer and Jack Johnson, you'll really appreciate Chris.

Henry Kapono has always been one of my favorite musical artists, long before I knew there was any connection between Buffett and Kapono a few years back. I have loved Henry's music for many years, and THAT is why I am going to Duke's, because I want to see him live very badly.
Check the schedule at Kapono's, too. Henry used to play at his own place one night a week, too. The atmosphere isn't the same as Duke's, for sure, but if "Duke's on Sunday" isn't happening that week for whatever reason, you may still be able to catch Henry at Kapono's.
Duke's on Sunday IS happening, and I am very excited. Thanks Jen

Moose Mcgilicuttys better than dukes? I beg to differ. Mooses is in my opinion is a cheesy version of Fridays.

Duke's is owned by TS Restaurants, they have places in California and Hawaii. I've been to Keoki's Paradise on Kauai a few times and enjoyed it everytime. When I lived in San Diego my wife and I would celebrate our anniversary at Jake's in Del Mar, right on the beach.

Moose's is very cheesy . . . but it is not like Friday's.
More like a watering hole for locals and bumbs . . . I hate tourist traps - even Margaritaville Restaurants - eek, did I just say that out loud?
