Denver Broncos Player Shot/Killed

Darrent Williams, a cornerback for the Denver Broncos, was shot and killed outside a nightclub last night after the Broncos lost to the 49ers.

No details are available at this time...

Only detail I have heard...it was a drive-by shooting. Unsure if he was the target.

I just woke up to this................complete shock. Darrent was a star in the making and will be missed.

i agree!!!!!!!! they are talking about him on ESPN!!!!! it seems like he was getting himself together and really becoming a good player!!!!!

NFL has a serious problem with the "thug life" attitude. Look at the Bengals. So much wasted talent. Every week it seemed another was being arrested. The NFl is so concerned about Viagra and Levitra adds during the games. Maybe they should focus thier problems elsewhere.

I'd sure appreciate it that before you all jump on the 'thug' bandwagon, how bout we see the results of the investigation.

There were others in the car, a man and woman, and Darrent's name was never involved in any incidents before.

Armchair speculation on our parts won't help anything. Let the police do their work. Hopefully they can find and arrest the culprits quickly.

I don't know anything about this young man, but the article I read said he was looking forward to an off-season program that helped kids stay out of gangs, so he didn't strike me as a thug....

without armchair speculation about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING, we wouldn't have discussion boards... it's all about the discussion!

As a division rival of the Broncos, I DO know, from media reports, that Williams was no choirboy.
He was recently fined by the NFL for cussing out a ref, and he was quoted a number of times
in both the SD and Denver papers popping off at the opposition AND his OWN team for on-field performances.

All I know is when you choose to be outspoken, you're bound to rub SOMEONE the wrong way.
