is it time for a new coffee maker?

Post by ragtopW »

OK I don't drink that much coffee.
like in the winter. maybe one pot a weekend.
BUT. I use the coffee maker for hot water almost every weekend.
the last month or so I have thought that the water isn't too
hot after it cycles. and tonight I made hot buttered rum
and the water almost didn't melt the room temp butter.

is it time?? the coffee maker is ...Uh.. Well I don't remember
how old it is.. over five years..

I agree with Connie. :D

There's so many to choose from - many not expensive since you don't use it much. :)

You can run vinegar through it first to see if that helps.
When there's a bunch of crusty, hard water deposit on
your heating coils, it will certainly slow your brewer
down. But you have to be willing to smell boiling white
vinegar for a while... I don't mind, but Mr. D hates it.

Sounds more like you need a hot pot and a french press!

I've had mine since 97. But got a new one back in November for a house warming gift. So I took the old one to work and it's still going strong :D

it's cheaper to add half the water... you get the same effect, and don't go thru a can of coffee a day. :D
