What do the original lyric/note pages shellacked into the CIP bars say?
"Reading departure signs in some big airport reminds me of the places I've been"

well, mustard does kinda conflict with Heinz 57...
I always figured the "medium rare with mustard" was just an optional variation...

Personally, I like a burger with lots of black pepper, mustard, and grilled onions. (And I am NOT from Texas!)

It's not just Texans. The best cheeseburger in Omaha, NE is at Bronco's and the standard condiments are Mustard, Onion and Pickle. Cheese, too, of course.

I have to agree about the mustard clashing with the Heinz 57 though. Yuck.

Thanx for the idea, Quiet!

As luck would have it, when were at the Detroit show, I went to my first CiP, saw the lyrics shellacked in the bar and TOOK A PICTURE of them. (Go ahead, call me anal - it fits)

So, went thru the September photos and sure enough, it DOES say "Muenster" - although it's misspelled slightly as "Munster"

I haven't been around long enough to get the picture postin' thang down,
but I just uploaded the pic to the User Gallery, if some nice Admin could approve it...

I've always gone by what the lyric sheet said, which is what he sings - mustard. I like mustard and ketchup on a cheeseburger (no ketchup allowed on a hotdog though).

Maybe...Jimmy bought the Muenster company and plans to have it served in all the Marg/CIP places. It's slightly savvy to change the lyric after all these years if there's something going on that deals with some kind of promotion.

:o I wouldn't have guessed muenster in a million years. But that misspelling is as close to "mustard" as it is "muenster". :D

Of course I am...just look at the friends I have.

...and I agree, I think he sings "mustard" on the recording, but if you look at the pics I uploaded - which I'm sure will be approved any second [smilie=whistle.gif] (ahem...never a sherifff, uh, "moderator" around when you need one...) - it really looks like the original intent was the cheese...or maybe a tribute to Herman or Grampa...

If you think about it, if you order a cheeseburger at a place that gives you choices, what are the first two questions that will be asked of you?

I don't feel like pulling the grill out (requires moving the snowblower, which has been sleeping since October - don't want to wake the snowblower...) maybe someone in the southern climes could try grilling up a burger with a slice of Muenster and then lettuce know how it tastes?

I think Jimmy is going to have to issue a statement clearifing his lyrics. That's the only way to make this right.

Muenster/mustard?

I myself can't stand mustard on anything. That includes Hotdogs.

we've always done it that way, mustard vs muenster

LOL as we say in Texas, this is a hoot.

some say MUSTARD.

Jimmy said to Ken, it is muenster...

some say It is STILL MUSTARD... LOL

change is good. even if it is muenster.

interesting that SF's music book says muenster.

Saying Jimmy approved the CIB menu, LOL, How does business really work? He looked it over... maybe. haha.

It would be funny if Jimmy posted an notice.

I will talk to Coleman about that. He's cool.

Mustard and ketchup blend into a tasty mix I THINK.

That's how a lot of places do it. It forms an orange mixture.

I just did a Google search on CIP lyrics and the marg site came up - one with SYKBH and the other SOASOAS. The SYKBH had the Meunster line in it while the SOASOAS had the mustard line in it (on the Google page).

So I went to both marg links and both of them say Meunster. But seeing that it had it as mustard for the SOASOAS link, it's rather obvious it's been changed.

Someone has some explaining to do or else. I don't like this mustard/Meunster business. It's very yellow.
