Ok, think I finally figgered this picture post thang out.
As I described before, these are supposedly copies of Jimmy's original lyrics - shellacked into the bar at the Detroit Cheeseburger in Paradise Restaurant:
Close-up view of the passage in question here:
A most mysterious calling harbour
So far, but yet, so near
Where I see the day
When my hair's full gray
and I finally...disappear. BUT NOT YET!!
The change to this one line in the song doesn't change my opinion of it....this is still the WORST song he ever wrote. It almost makes my ears bleed to hear it. It narrowly beats out Come Monday for worst song but since it's a staple at the concerts I count it for a beer run.

Just to clarify....do you think these are BAD songs or OVERPLAYED songs?

Hey Marty! LTNS!!
I bet when you took that picture, you had no idea the purpose it would serve!!
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say
I’m still gliding as I go flying down this endless wave
This is in response to the article by Mr. Ken Hoffman entitled "Buffett likes cheese with his lyrics." I think there are issues that need to be addressed, but are not. As a Buffettologist (official), I have to say that your statements regarding Buffett's ode to ground beef are quite astute.
However, I have seen copies of the original lyrics as written by Buffett, and I noticed there are many more lyrics which he is not singing properly. Let's take a look here...the lyrics also say--
Now I have read about the old salt's diets,
The same thing time and again.
Dried beef and biscuits from the (not decipherable) each day
Sounds just like the menu at a Holiday Inn.
Even now among the island's (not decipherable)
I can usually find what I need.
Not cabanas or bananas or daquiris
But that American creation on which I feed.
Now, I have never heard Buffett sing the song with those lyrics. Not to say he hasn't. I wasn't alive when the song was written and recorded. However, if to say the original handwritten lyrics are "The Official and Original," then perhaps it's more than muenster that should be corrected.
As far as the indechipherable lyrics above, I live not too far from a Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant and could easily go and read the entire lyrics as shellaced on the bar top. However, I am a broke college student. Could I borrow a few dollars so I can get a hamburger? I'll gladly repay you Tuesday.
