I am going on the Parrothead Cruise in March! Looking for suggestions on fun places to go on St.Maarten!!! Someone mentioned a bar that a guy from NJ owns with licence plates all over the walls! anyone know the name of this place and where on the island it is?
Any and all suggestions are appreciated!!!! Thanks!!!!

If you like beaches, I suggest Orient Beach. It's gorgeous, with lots of facilities. There are both clothed and clothing optional sections.

Dutch... walk from the cruise ship dock, but get directions first.flipflopgirl wrote:Thanks!!! We spent our whole time there looking for it, starting from the
far end of the shopping district. BIG MISTAKE. It's not too far
from the dock at all. Front Street 17, Philipsburg
And max out on purchasing the Jumbie. You'll be glad you did.
Check the price on the ship first.

Sunset Beach Bar is one of the coolest bars on the island. It is located right next to the airport, about a 20 minute cab ride from the cruise ship dock (depending on traffic).
If you are in St. Martin in the evening, the best happy hour on the island is at the Dinghy Dock Bar, located at Capt. Oliver's resort on Oyster Pond. From 5-7 p.m. its "Mix Your Own" drinks. You give the bartender $2.00, tell him what you're drinking and then he sets down a glass with ice, a can of whatever mixer you want and the entire bottle of booze. Then he walks away. I was drinking gin and tonics and I don't really think I drank a whole can of tonic the entire three days I was there

Make sure to get a bottle of Guavaberry liquor ... yummy over icecream.
If you are into cameras and equipment, I can get the name of the camera shop I went to while there. GREAT prices. I got a new lense $300 US dollars cheaper than it was being sold in the states. Original in the box with factory warranty ... they let me put it on my camera aand walk out of the store to test it ... really nice people.
I guess gouda cheese is really good and cheap here too. People were bringing it back on board in cases!!

Sunset Beach bar is a blast, good burgers at a decent price, too. You can sit there for hours watching the jets come in. The Sunset in the photo below is the blue umbrellas below the rear of the plane.frozen bird wrote:Sunset Beach Bar is one of the coolest bars on the island. I think one of the best ways to see the island from someone who lives there is to get a cab for a few hours or the day. When I did a cruise down that way, I hopped in a cab on all the islands and saw some of the things you wouldnt see from the cruise excursions. The cabbie even took me to a lady up in the mountains selling sugar apples, spices...and other things that you smell in the air at a Buffett show. Yah mon!
Cab ride for the day...$20 excluding tip...memories..priceless.
