well it was a palm tree.....and everyone here would sign it....and it would get passed on to someone attending the next show and it would travel from there to all the shows!!...that was the Readers Digest version!!

I just talked to Jon, my guitarist... his new gf loves Buffett and they will be coming - he wanted to know if he should bring his guitar.... (duh!!)

So we will be able to play a little - if that is OK with everyone - nothing major.... (we don't have electric or anything) But I thought it would be fun to jam a little with as many people joining in as possible!!

Excellent Reader's Digest version! Here's the unabridged version:
http://www.buffettnews.com/forum/viewto ... sc&start=0

Feesh, it depends on if you are willing to let your shark go and float around the country all year long, having his own sign-in name and posting his adventures, gaining signatures from BN'rs at every phlocking, and even being signed by the likes of the CRB and Jimmy himself, if he gets lucky.

I've never signed a palmtree, but I've always enjoyed reading the threads of the palmtree's misadventures, especially Son of a Son of a Palmtree. Last year, both palms disappeared, but in a previous year, I believe, SOASOAPT ended up on permanent display at a Cheeseburger in Paradise.

With Landshark Lager sponsoring this year's concerts, there was extensive discussion that a BN Landshark would get more attention and be a unique change for this year.

I know people are wondering why I'm involved, because I've never had anything to do with it in the past, but it's just because I think it's a fun tradition, and I don't see anyone else jumping up to the cause. It's in your hands, Orlando phlockers, to get it started.

Good for Barry, for looking into it, and Feesh, if you've already got one and it is deemed worthy and you're willing to part with it... Y'all may have your solution...

I'll be bringing Jolly Mon V. Jolly Mon II made it on stage with Jimmy at the Orlando arena before. He picked it up, raised it above his head, and broke it over his knee. Jolly Mon II and IV have all been surfed through the audiences of various venues during Fins.

If it's deemed worthy and you want to use it, please feel free. He's come with me to the last 3 concerts after his birth, but I can let him go.

FYI - I picked up Jolly Mon V in Sanibel years ago. It was very difficult to find him since they came out with this multi-colored purple and green shark, which I didn't want. I'll blow it up here tonight and give you the exact measurements.

I'll turn him over..it'll just be a bit sad for me. He's been with me to many shows and I haven't surfed him through the crowd on purpose. Let me know if you'd like to accept him for this tradition. Since I'm a newbie, I'll do my part to contribute what I can.
