Tim Flannery is a local hero down here in SoCal.
His albums are local hits, and the house band he used to front was called Buffed Out.
He's sat in with Jerry Gontang & Stars On The Water a few times, too!
I'm trying to decide between seeing the Giants or the Angels when I arrive in Phoenix on Fri a.m.
I CAN'T FREAKIN' WAIT TO HIT SPRING TRAINING!!!

"I bet on my team to win every night because I love my team, I believe in my team," Rose said. "I did everything in my power every night to win that game."
I think he just lost whatever slim chance he had to get into the hall.

And that's a shame.
Like him or not, he BELONGS in the hall of fame.

My keeper players:
Justin Verlander, Joel Zumaya, Brandon Inge, Huston Street, and Jeremy Sowers. All for $26 (of a $280 budget!)
Here's the roster I ended up with:
HITTERS
Hernandez, Ramon C
Napoli, Mike C
Wigginton, Ty 1B
Lugo, Julio 2B
Inge, Brandon 3B
Drew, Stephen SS
Bradley, Milton OF
Catalanotto, Frank LF
Monroe, Craig LF
Rios, Alex RF TOR
Suzuki, Ichiro RF
Hafner, Travis DH
Upton, B.J. UI
STARTING PITCHERS
Beckett, Josh
Hernandez, Felix
Verlander, Justin
Sowers, Jeremy
Loaiza, Esteban
RELIEF PITCHERS
Bradford, Chad
Donnelly, Brendan
Hansen, Craig
Zumaya, Joel
Street, Huston
RESERVES
Millar, Kevin 1B
Lester, Jon SP
My power is a little weak, but I think it'll be enough to survive. I have good speed and average. My pitching is pretty strong, although I wouldn't mind upgrading Hansen and Loaiza.
It's a deep league, hard to get all good players....you do have to settle at some positions...
CaptainP wrote:Diamondbacks trade Jorge Julio to Florida for a nobody.
They've been looking for a closer, had a few guys vying for the position but they apparently weren't satisfied with their in house options.
So instead they go with a guy that's failed in 3 other places?
Given what I was just reading about Julio I have to think that he's no lock to start the season as the closer, and if he does I have to wonder how long he may actually keep the job

One of the NY papers is saying Carl Pavano is supposed to be the Yankees' opening day starter. That means he has less than a week to get injured again.
