Poor Mollie...

We were having such a good morning. I got up and baked cinnamon rolls. Both kids were ready for school on time. Things were moving on just like they are supposed to...then...

We all go out the back door. Jim went first...(note, the back steps are concrete) then Mollie, with her hands in her coat pockets. It's 23 degrees this morning. I turned to lock the door and I heard her trip...and fall...down 4 steps and landing, full force, on her face. With her hands in her pockets, she couldn't break her fall. I thought for sure her nose was broken. Lots of blood and terribly messed up glasses. Well, after a trip to the ER and multiple phone calls, (Hubby/Daddy was at work!) nothing is broken but she has road rash type abrasions on her legs, her wrist and her face, 2 black eyes and a purple/red nose. She is so upset. Not only does it hurt but most of it is on her face. She will heal. It most likely won't scar but for now, she's not a happy little girl. I took pictures. As soon as I can, I'll post a scraped up Mollie.

Please throw some phin power this way. She's worried now her friends will tease her about being scraped up.

She HAS had a few Nutter Butter cookies....

As we speak, she is "fixing" my hair...ought to be scary!

The swelling is beginning to go down and she bruising is showing up.

We have a radio commercial to record this afternoon...for Girl Scout Cookies! As long her she doesn't sound stuffy, she should be fine for that.

At least by having her hands in her pocket she kept from getting a broken wrist/arm. But no fun on the face....

We just got home from picking up her school work and the glasses place. It will be Tuesday before her glasses will be ready. They have to order the lense and with MLK day, it'll be longer...oh well...For now, she will have some slack cut for her. Swollen nose and no glasses...She is better than I expected. She's purple and red...not as black as I thought. I hope it doesn't progress to worse. We held ice on it for a long time. Maybe that cut the swelling and bruising down.

Thanks for all the well wishes. She IS reading them all and they are making her feel better.
