My wife and I walked into our reception to "Love and Luck".... she's not a parrot-head so I thought it was really cool she chose that song.
And now I must confess, I could use some rest... I can't run at this pace very long.

I think Captenuna is right on, if it's a serious, romantic Buffett song that you want, then Anything is the one. I don't know if that song captures the Buffett spirit per se, but it is the only romantic serious love song of his that I can see.
"..he'll cook you a fish that he caught that day then belt out a song for the crowd, he'll drink half your beer, but don't worry buddy, the next ones on the house. I'm talkin' 'bout my kind of people..."

the power of suggestion had taken over my iPod. reading through the thread and my shuffle-play chose Love & Luck.....and the iPod isn't connected to this computer....OK, I'm a little freaked, best use this song for something.

It is a bit fast for the First Dance though....

what about Anytime, Anywhere, Any...what is it?? I don't know the lyrics really well, so maybe it's not a good fit. just know it's slow enough and it must be about commitment, right?

Hey, don't forget to invite us to the wedding! I am in Raleigh so I won't have far to drive. ;) Just kidding! Best wishes and hope you have a long and happy marriage.

Seems like a no brainer, considering what state you are from. Coast of Carolina would be perfect, especially if there's been a few challenges in your past leading up to the marriage (after one or two false starts).

A love song with a real look at life...climbing the walls that won't come down. A promise for the future...through the years and miles and tears and smiles I want to get it right...from the bottom of my heart, off the coast of Carolina...

I think this might be my favorite Jimmy ballad and one I really enjoy dancing to with my wife with all the challenges we've had in the past year or so.

Little roadside restaurant we artfully complain
Groovy tells the waitress that his chicken died in vain
Most every day goes by according to design
I live this dream but still it seems I have you on my mind

CHORUS:
From the bottom of my heart
Off the coast of Carolina
After one or two false starts
I believe we found our stride
And the walls that won’t come down
We can decorate or climb or find some way to get around
Cause I’m still on your side
From the bottom of my heart

I can’t see the future but I know it’s comin’ fast
It’s not that hard to wind up knee deep in the past
It’s come a lot of Mondays
Since the phone booth that first night
Through years and miles and tears and smiles
I want to get it right

CHORUS:
From the bottom of my heart
Off the coast of Carolina
After one or two false starts
I believe we found our stride
And the walls that won’t come down
We can decorate or climb or find some way to get around
Cause I’m still on your side
From the bottom of my heart

Instrumental Bridge

These days I’m up about the time I used to go to bed
Living large was once the deal, now I watch the stars instead
They are timeless and predictable unlike most things that I do
But I tell the wind and my old friend I’m headed home to you

CHORUS:
From the bottom of my heart
Off the coast of Carolina
After one or two false starts
I believe we found our stride
And the walls that won’t come down
Hell we can decorate or climb or find some way to get around
Cause I’m still on your side
From the bottom of my heart
From the bottom of my heart

We did "Nautical Wheelers" for ours...until halfway through the first verse we realized that neither of us could waltz, and hastily invited everyone else onto the floor so no one would notice...with the proper preparation, I think it could work...

I got married this past June in Wilmington, NC. Our first dance was to "Coast of Carolina". We played "Love and Luck" while exiting the reception (people holding sparklers). And after that "Lovely Cruise" was played to end everything.

I am not sure about a first song but I have long thought "Love and Luck" would be a prefect song to end a wedding night and have the bride & groom exit to . . .

Maybe "Bigger Than the Both of Us"? It wasn't around when we got married or I would have used it.

My husband and I wanted "Get Drunk & Screw" because we've been joking that it's our song for years, but we figured the grandparents wouldn't exactly approve
