Could 2007 be a big touring year for JB?

yah, please don't go. We over 40's really know how to party. I partied with some young young people on New Years Eve....they couldn't keep up with us "old" ones. And I don't want to be in my 20's again. I was so naive and all my friends were 'pukers' .flipflopgirl wrote:A heck of a lot cheaper than going to the show and putting up with 40, 50, 60 yr olds that want to be in their 20's again, and bubba forgetting more and more of his lyrics to his songs.
well Pablo i happen to be in my late thirties and i don't want to be anywhere near my 20's again!! Why so i can drink so much at the concert(WHICH I HAVE WITNESSED AT BUFFETT AND OTHER SHOWS) that i am puking and don't remember the show?!? If you don't like the prices don't go!!!!!!
And besides the things SMLCHNG said, Jimmy has:
Transportation costs (semis, etc.), gas, drivers.
Hotel rooms.
Food.
Lawyers and secretaries and roadies fees.
Music equipment, repairs, replacements.
Charleston.
Frozen Snickers bars.
Props for the stage.
Permits for various things.
These are just the things that I can come up with in a few minutes time.

i don't mind helping pay for all that. the entertainment is great! i went to the atlanta show in june 06 and had a great time. i enjoyed watching the people slide down the top of the hill on their belly in the mud. it rained for awhile and we were soaked. it was a heck of a conversation piece at work for all those who didn't go. the only thing that made me mad was the security guy at the gate threw away my camera. i tried to hide it but i lost out. next time i'll just take the camera phone.
i wish someone would tell me how to get tickets without having to go to the ticket brokers
i bought 3 and paid 110.00 each to sit in the grass. the original price was 36.00 each. they were slow to get to me too.

So the Grateful Dead made a living for 30 years off of their CD sales alone? I don't think so."It's common knowledge- musicians do not make their money (money meaning a PROFIT) on the actual concert"

Maybe next time it would be wiser not to try to sneak stuff past security that isn't allowed into a concert. He may have made you mad but he was only doing his job.saltshaker1 wrote:the only thing that made me mad was the security guy at the gate threw away my camera. i tried to hide it but i lost out. next time i'll just take the camera phone.

Isn't the whole purpose of going to a Buffett concert about GOING to the event and BEING a part of it? We can hear the music 24/7 if we choose to on great sound systems.
I don't think of it as paying $126 to go see Jimmy, I am paying $126 to have an entire day of being a part of the event. Pack a bottle of rum and some subs in a cooler and walk around all day meeting people. By show time, I'm drinking water anyway, not wasting time in lines buying $10 beers. If I want to drink inside, I can put takillya or Parrot Bay in my fruity lei

You make them!
You go to the Dollar Tree or Party store and buy the packages of little plastic fruit that have powdered candy in them. Pour out the candy and attach the caps of the fruit to a flowered lei. Fill the fruits with your beverage of choice (large medicine droppers or turkey basters work well) and voila! http://www.nassaucandysouth.com/CANDY%2 ... 0FRUIT.jpg

No for that cost I could do a lot more. Watching drunken college kids make fools of them selves---- sorry I will talk to my little cousins tell them get me tickets for Big Ten football and I can witness that for less than half that price.... and be a god to some 19 year old college honey cause I am over 21 years of age.

$55 for seats 12 rows from the stage to see Sammy Hagar last year. Not too bad.Big Jimmy wrote:$26 is for BEHIND the stage. I know a lot of folks are like me that if you can not get a good seat what is the point of even going.TraderRick wrote:I was hoping this wouldn't evolve into an us against them thing - because it really isn't. The ticket prices unfortunately are venue driven a lot of the times- if you're in Vegas plan on at least $150+ but if you check out the upcoming Orlando show they start at $26.
That being said- what I've always loved about going to Jimmy's shows is how he has achieved what so many musicians haven't been able to - a fan base that is an honest crossover of mutliple generations! And how they party so well together.

Tickets are way overpriced all across the board pretty much
$400+ for The Rolling Stones
$200+ for The Who
$300+ for NFL Playoff Tickets
$70+ for most MLB regular Season Games
$125+ for Ice seats at a NHL game
though I have been lucky-- last 2 concert tickets I have bought haven't been ridcously overpriced
$55 for 11th row seats MAIN FLOOR CENTER STAGE for Brooks & Dunn/Sugarland/Jack Ingram
$65 for 10th row seats centerstage off main floor (In the round show) for GEORGE STRAIT

Most of the concert tailgates I've been to, the drunken college kids aren't even noticable. Nope---but I paid less than 10 bucks for my tickets, and I was in the 2nd pavillion.... come to think of it--- We walked into the Car Show with the convertible we were in... two gals gave me their tickets cause they were given better seats---so I had free tickets in the pavillion.RinglingRingling wrote:$55 for seats 12 rows from the stage to see Sammy Hagar last year.
