Considering there are usually 3 story arcs per season, I guess it was kinda natural that the show shifted, but that drastically???
Arc 1: The Family Affair with Gram and Pops
Arc 2: On the trail of Fayed and Gredenko
Arc 3: Getting Back Audrey
Palmer made a great move, launching the dud, but he still seems really shaky. Could they at least give him a nurse to be with him?
I gotta say, Doyle starting to grow on me.
The last fight scene with Fayed was awesome. Jack too way too much pleasure out of killing him.
I don't really like how the Chinese are portrayed as really evil. Now I don't know if this guy is acting alone or if he has the governments backing, but if it's the latter, it's unlike 24 to make the 'bad guy' another country, rather than a terrorist cell.
In an unrelated note, this past week a saw a rerun from an old season (Season 4 I think) that had Jack, Audrey, Chloe, Edgar Tony, Michelle, Curtis, Bill Buchanon, David Palmer, and Wayne Palmer. I kinda miss all those guys that were killed off.

When Jack hung Fayed with the chain, did it remind you of the scene in Die Hard? Jack even said "Say hello to your brother" or something like that.
Shroeder looks at the carnage and says to Jack: " Damn Jack."
That was cool.

Poppa Bauer will have to come abck at some point too, maybe to help get Audrey. You have to figure that the past relationship between Jack and his brother's wofe will play a part too now that Audrey is back...

I watch the show with my teen daughter. As the final warehouse scene unfolded we clicked off the bombs and Fayed as "mission accomplished" and I wondered what was next. My keet said:
"I bet a million bucks Audrey is still alive!"
and Jack's phone rang...
"I bet a million bucks Audrey is still alive!"
