"not to mention his lyric writing is amazing"? HA HA! Neal Pert? HA HA! Drummers should stick to drumming, not writing lyrics, writing songs or even singing.

Maybe the reason no rock acts want to go to Cleveland for the RRHOF...thing is because that one band said 'Hello Cleveland' and ever since then no one has been able to top it.

The Baseball Hall Of Fame - it's true, it can't and should not be compared to the RRHOF. It's very simple why - in the RRHOF the artists are rewarded FOR bad behaviour (among other silly things like, I dunno, great songs, great records, etc...). Baseball has become America's Fat Time.

Never heard of em
you must be kidding?? They're only the BEST three-man band EVER!! and they do plenty of international touring, though I don't know if they've hit Australia.

They're a rock band from Canada. Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart (one of the best rock drummers of all time - not to mention his lyric writing is amazing)

I think I'd put Cream and The Jimi Hendrix Experience several levels above Rush when you're talking about 3 man bands.
not to mention Emerson, Lake & Palmer 8) :D

I have fond memories of the only ELP concert I went to. Ahhh, Wendy.

If we want to travel in the "way-back machine," few 3-man bands have had a more "significant impact on the evolution, development and perpetuation of rock and roll" than Buddy Holly & The Crickets.

Unless, of course, you're talking about ZZ Top....

I've thought that Jimmy should be considered for at least one reason:

He has got to be the highest selling concert artist in history who only gets one song played on the radio. That alone should get a vote.

The one song on the radio tag was over years ago. I am curious to know if over the years Jimmy has had similar concert sales or whatever you want to call it that comes close to the big tours that the Stones and U2 have done since they play to millions of people in one year as opposed to the lesser amount JB plays to, especially since 1999 or so with his pulling back on shows per tour.

I think the Stones average about 3 million or so a tour. In the States anyway.

Inductions aren't based on concert grosses. In regards to airplay, I hear lots of songs of his on the radio besides Margaritaville.
