1) Jimmy hangs it up

2) Jimmy keeps touring, using a teleprompter (very infrequently, from my observations at a handful of shows this year...)

When he was young, didn't Mick Jagger once say he didn't want to still be singing Satisfaction when he was 35, or something like that? What is he now, 65?

The young (and 40-something is YOUNG) often say silly things, then change their minds when faced with reality years later......

or his recent "this song I wrote" while referring to Bama Breeze at the Aspen show. I don't think it's fair to quote him while on stage, everything should be considered "off the record".

But I gotta say, if he has the teleprompter....use it! He's still messing up the lyrics! What're we gonna do with you, Jimmy?

Jimmy hasn't retired yet.

And I last heard him say he'd quit before using a teleprompter in his follow up 60 Minutes interview (summer '04).

I remember a solo of He Went to Paris that lasted a good 8 minutes. Unless I didn't pay any attention to the other guy behind the curtain, that was all Jimmy.

Sure, there are some songs where he just goes through the motions on the guitar - but he certainly does play.

Hell I have a hard enough time remembering what day it is yet alone singing 20 some songs every time I step on stage in front of thousands of drunk lazy - Oh wait, I don't write for Slate.
