WHAT?
You mean he had help from his TEAM mates? Hell, I thought he beat the Bears ALL BY HIS
G.D. SELF!
Tony Dungy's from my current hometown. Place will be going nuts tomorrow. Schools are already closed Monday because of the wind chill.

Tony Dungy is a super teriffic human being, and he definately deserves that trophy, which has to be bittersweet for him, considering all he's been through in the past six years.
But you could gag me with a spoon if I have to listen to anymore PAYTON F'ING MANNING crap.
Boomer Esiason was saying today he may possibly be the greatest quarterback ever.
MOSES, SMELL, THE FRIGGIN' ROSES!

Gary,
I think you are now the proud owner of Peyton's monkey

I hope you can win a Super Bowl really soon before the damn thing really gets you

I've never played in the N.F.L., and, unless some team is looking for a paunchy, grey-haired 55 year old dirty old guy, I have no plans to.
But MY FAVORITE TEAM won it in Super Bowl 20 when I was a mere baby of 34.

Congratulations to the Indianapolis Colts.
The team has been building toward this since the day they hired Tony Dungy.

At least it's happy news about how the monkey's gone and not another (probably 50 years of) "Maybe the Lions have a shot this year, you shouldn't abandon your team even thought they've been one of the worst teams in the league for most of your life." I don't understand why people still pay for those tickets.
And Garry, yes Peyton's a media ho, but I know so many people who have encountered him just in everyday life, or know him socially, and they have all said how nice he is.

I'm not upset because the Bears lost-I actually guessed the Colts would win (I predicted the score to be 38-17, which wasn't TOO far off).
I just find it SICKENING the way the media sucks Payton's a$$ as if he were the freaking MESSIAH, and SINGLE-HANDEDLY won the tropy for the city of Indianapolis all by his self, as if his team mates were nothing more than his side men.
JEEZ, LOUISE!
A little credit to the rest of the team AND HIS COACH sure would be nice.

Probably so, Lenora, but hearing Boomer Esiason call him the greatest quarterback ever was the last straw.

I understand what you mean, but I just hate that one of the other nice guys of the sport gets so maligned because other people say stuff like that about him.

Oh well, it's over & done with for another year.
If your team won, have a drink & celebrate.
If your team lost, have a drink & forget it.

Where's Big Jimmy?
May be passed out by now, his last post was just after noon saying he was going to a bar to watch the game

At least the officiating was better this year

That Bears team was something very, very special too. I don't think we'll ever see anything like that again.

Only 2 1/2 months to the draft, and it all starts again

That's Boomer's problem, not Peyton's.
Yeah, the guy does a lot of commercials, but a recent market research study still listed him as by far the most marketable NFL player...even with all of his current exposure. I've not seen Peyton "seek out" the media and show off or slam others as some atheletes routinely do these days. The interviews are all part of the job and being the quarterback of his team...people always want to know what he has to say.
And yeah, all I've ever heard around town is he's a decent guy. Indy's a pretty conservative place that wouldn't and hasn't embraced just any athelete (e.g. Ron Artest was basically run out of town), but Manning has earned the community's respect both on and off the field.
