3rd Party Auto Warranty

Post by land_shark3 »

Does anyone have experience with 3rd party auto warranties? I'm not looking for the first three search results from Google, but rather companies that you actually have experience with.

If everything goes right, I'll be picking up a used car in a few days. I want to get a warranty because it is one of those "high repair bill" cars and the timing belt and water pump may not be far off.

I've had no experience with warranties but I have owned Volvo's the past 9 yrs, I would think the timing belt and water pump are normal wear and tear items and wouldn't be covered. I know Volvo recommends changing mine out every 70000 miles, as far as the water pump, being you have to go through the T belt to get to it you might as well replace it anyway while your there. I would much rather put out $800 every 4 yrs then $3500 for a new engine.

Maybe it's possible to negotiate with the seller to pay half if not all of this repair before you buy or maybe this car isn't the right one for you  :pirate: Good Luck
