Got this info in an email tonight:

Savannah's Sirrus show this week mentioned that
Jimmy would be performing at Jazz Fest on April 28.

The list of entertainers for both weekends will be posted after Mardi Gras on www.nojazzfest.com.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I do not think that he will be performing this year.

I could not find the article from the Baton Rouge newspaper on line, but it started by saying that the headliners are set for both weekends,

The short list already has some pretty big headliners.

1st weekend: Dr. John, Rod Stewart, Brad Paisley, Van Morrison, Norah Jones, Irma Thomas, among about 100 more.

2nd weekend: Harry Connick, ZZ top, steely dan, Alman Bros, George Benson, Allen Touceit, also among about 100 more.

Not saying that it's not possible, and not to rain on anyone's parade. But his name should have been on the list by now if he was planning on playing.

Maybe this means NOLA will get a full concert this year?

Wasn't JB a late add to the list last year?

I believe you are correct, and there was one year where he made a apperance on stage, maybe 2001 with Lyle Lovett and I think a couple of more people, I have a newspaper article at my house about it.

I do remember last year he being one of the first annouced, I also remember the controversy about the Neville Bros not performing.

That article states "among the performers" and proceeds with the list. That indicates that there are others. So don't get your umrellas out yet ;)

Considering "Teddy Badly's" passing, I'd be real surprised if JB skipped Jazz Fest this year.... Not necessarily there as a performer; maybe just as an attendee... or to sit in with a band or play at M'Ville.... or show up somewhere at 2AM and sit in.....
