Weight Watchers
Just curious if any of you out there are in Weight Watchers. I just joined at work and I'm excited about it. However, I am always looking for others to join in the battle.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I will be doing the program on my own beginning Monday. I've been on a 1200 calorie diet since last Monday to kind of "kick-start" my body into diet mode and get my mind right. WW is a great program. You can eat whatever you want to eat, you just have to count the points. The flexpoints really help too when you have dinners and get-togethers. Be sure to drink your water! Keep us updated!

I'm doing Weight Watchers.....and I know Michael (sonofabeach) has done PHENOMENAL on WW......I truly think it's the most reasonable program out there....regarding both $$ and nutrition.
I'm just doing the online program right now......not to hip on the meetings...but I will join at some point so I can get my "lifetime".....and YES, I am going to get it this time!!
Come visit over in the "Gettin' Healthy" thread.....

My wife and I have been doing WW for a while. I've dropped about 20 pounds, although I can't say I stuck to it very religiously over the holidays and through my daughter's birthday last week. But I'm gearing up to get back on it and, with my job, I'll be on my feet a lot more starting in February, so hopefully that will help some.

Weight Watchers is about the only thing that has worked for me.
In August I was 283 pounds and went on yet another low fat diet.
After losing almost ten pounds staving myself, I started at the beginning of September weighing in at 274.
I weighed in at 203 this week!!!.
Don't make me break the pics out!
Not bad for a few months and I can still pretty much eat whatever. It's mainly about portion control.
With the new program that just started a few weeks ago, you get more points if you are a guy.
Before the new program I was at 26 points a day and now it's 34.
Still losing too!!!
I've found the meetings to be very helpful, but then our instructor (or whatever her title is) is very good, informative, positive and energetic.
It's so easy and so satisfying that I can see myself on it for quite some time. Remember it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change

Actually, that IS my motivation for counting points and trying to change my habits....it IS a short ride and I don't want to make it even shorter with my rotten habits!!!!!!land_shark3 wrote:My mom and sister each lost 40-50 pounds. It worked great for them, but like PG I don't have the will power or desire to count every little point.
Its a short ride, so I'm going to enjoy as much as possible.
It's all about finding something that works for you and fits your level of comfort!!

it's really really hard this time. I know I can lose it and my brain... my brain isn't cooperatin. A lot of the talk at the last meeting was about going to the gym. That just isn't a possibility for me. Three keets and a full time job. sweating? it's the last thing on my mind. so if I'm gonna lose it's gotta be the points that do it.pbans wrote:Be patient.....down is down!!freaky4tiki wrote:Just joined last week! Last week I didn't lose much so I'm kinda hacked off about it. This is like the third or fourth time I've been on WW.
Good luck!

For those that think that counting points is a pain, they have 2 plans out now that you can choose from. ONe is the points system called the flex plan. The other is what they call the core plan. They give you a list of foods to eat off. You can eat what you need to eat off of that list to be satisfied. If it's not on the list, you have so many points for the week. You can switch back and forth between plans but only every week.
I've been doing it since Wednesday and I'm down 3 lbs. already. And I wasn't that good yesterday. But I'm seeing a change and I like that.

Good luck PTG! If I can do it, anybody can do it.
I do the Flex plan. Just too much junk food that I can't live without.
I hit KFC or Popeyes Chicken once a week for my fried chicken fix and still stay under points.
The Core plans looks pretty hardcore to me and I've heard that it's basically a diabetic diet. I salute the people that can do it.
The first few weeks I was losing anywhere from 5-9 pounds a week.
Now the closer I get to goal, the slower it is but I've never once gained, although I'm sure it's coming. I've had a couple of times that I stayed the same.
The women at the meetings are quick to point out that with me being a guy, I have an unfair advantage.
I think one of the best things I've done is eliminate sodas, which is very tough considering that I've been drinking Coke since I was a toddler.
I use to drink a 2 liter a day. Usually not because I was thirsty but simply because it was there. You can still drink sodas if you like but to me it seems like a waste of points.
I now drink Crystal Light and add a sugar substitute to my unsweet tea. Splenda is my fave but I can do them all now.
Funny, because months ago I could not stand sugar substitutes or Crystal Light. Every now and then I'll have a diet Pepsi, which is another thing that I could never stand before.
Water is important as well as milk, which I try to drink a glass of everyday..

Hey everyone! Just wanted to chime in and share that I've been doing WW since May and just met my goal of losing 50 lbs this week. I am very excited by it--I haven't been this weight since high school! I'm doing WW with a friend who has lost 60 lbs. My sister and brother-in-law have lost 55 and 50 lbs. I've never really been serious about weight loss before, but WW is a great thing. You can eat what you want but it is all about learning to make healthy choices and changing your lifestyle. So far it's worked---now onto the work of maintaining!
