Ryan being treated for pre-existing condition

ROUND ROCK, Texas (AP) - Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan is in good condition after being admitted today to an Austin-area hospital.

The 59-year-old is being treated at Round Rock Medical Center for recurring symptoms from a pre-existing medical condition.
Ryan had heart surgery -- a double bypass -- in April of 2000.

A statement from the minor league Corpus Christi Hooks says Ryan, who's majority owner of the Round Rock Express and the Hooks, was evaluated by Express team doctor Tim Robins.

All initial evaluations were normal. Ryan is stable.

He'll be moved to Houston for further evaluation.

The statement didn't say exactly what Ryan is being treated for.

But the retired pitcher said, "This is something I've lived with for the last seven years."

Ryan played for the New York Mets, the California Angels, the Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers.

He retired in 1993.

SEVEN NO-HITTERS, and (probably even MORE remarkable) TWELVE ONE-hitters.
WOW!!!
and he never cheated

I'm glad to read he's been released and back home. He's definately an American icon, the likes of which we need more of.
