Beaches in Cozumel

Post by CTParrothead763 »

Hi All -

Any suggestions for a nice beach in Cozumel? Not real interested in snorkeling, just relaxing, drinking, etc. Looking for a place with decent facilities. We'll only be there for a day, off a cruise ship.

Thanks.

One of the times we were there while on a cruise we rented a jeep and drove around the island. There were a few different beaches, but I cannot remember any names. Driving around the island was a blast though. It is something I would reccomend.

Mezcalitos on the east side of the island is my favorite.

Great beach bar and no crowd.

Passengers on shore excursions planned by the cruise line usually stay on the west side of the island.

Enjoy! 8)

When my wife and I cruised there we took a cab to to Chankanaab State Park. We liked it a lot.

BE very careful while in Coz...DON'T use a credit card or check card - not even in restuarants. When I was there, we used a credit card in Carlos and Charlies and one or two other places. In one of the places, they swiped our card....collected our "information" and were able to make a physical copy of the card. They then used the card in a number of different places...including a restaurant to the tune of $1000....the credit card company contacted us and made us aware ( who knew that they alert you when they see "unusual activity") ...anyway...luckily we were not liable...but it was a pain and alot of paperwork...

we also went to Chankanaab State Park and it was very nice. there was much to do- swim w/ dolphins, snorkle, eat, etc. but it was no problem to find your own space and relax. its worth checking out
