cecoleman wrote:My question is, are you supposed to, or is it assumed that you drink the Land Shark Lager with a lime like you would a Corona? I wondered when I heard of this beer if was Budweiser's replacement for Tequiza? I really liked Tequiza as it was just like Corona but the lime taste was built in so you didn't need it. I heard they were discontinuing Tequiza this past summer, and thought Land Shark could be the next Tequiza like Sierra Mist replaced "Storm" from Pepsi...same drink, new name.
You should NEVER use LIME in a corona. Only reason why that was started was the crappy cleaning system Mexicans had in Mexico back when they first produced Corona. Since you would return your bottles, and they would not wash them out-- the citric acids in the Lime would steralize the bottle making it somewhat more sanatary.

Whoever wrote that should be fired. They're brewing a beer that's drinkable? Really? I thought that was the point of buying beer.Land Shark Lager is a refreshing, drinkable "island" lager brewed by Margaritaville Brewing Co., an Anheuser-Busch affiliate.

"drinkable" is code for "a beer so lacking in taste or body you can pound one after another and be drunk before you get bloated".LIPH wrote:Whoever wrote that should be fired. Kinda like a wine that is "quafable".

I think that's intended to be a direct slam at their competitor.... basically implying Corona is NOT drinkableLIPH wrote:Whoever wrote that should be fired. They're brewing a beer that's drinkable? Re: Landshark Lager
That's the first I've heard or seen of anything happening outside of FL or the M'villes. My guess is either Dayton is a test market for broader distribution or you got bad info. Let us know if you hear more.bigcreola69 wrote:Landshark lager will be available soon at Tanks Bar And Grill in Dayton,Ohio :Anheiser Busch has long arms, and also has a large brewery in Columbus....

You do understand, don't you, that Corona is owned by Grupo Modelo, which is 52% owned by A-B.....Quiet and Shy wrote:I think that's intended to be a direct slam at their competitor.... basically implying Corona is NOT drinkableLIPH wrote:Whoever wrote that should be fired. That's part of what makes this is such an intriguing strategic move by A-B. (It would have made much more sense for LS Lager to be a Miller product.) Viewing the packaging, promo info, etc. their competitive target is clearly Corona.

Here is a little more info on the LSL and a competing Miller product. It comes from Ad Age. Funny, they mention Jimmy a few times but they spell Buffett with one T throughout.
