Landshark Lager?
Anyone have any idea when the Landshark will be available outside of FL?

Re: Landshark Lager?
The only official thing I've seen re. LS outside FL is it's currently at the Las Vegas M'ville and will be available at the venues for Buffett shows this summer.psw737 wrote:Anyone have any idea when the Landshark will be available outside of FL?

Considering that show was announced as the formal launch of LS Lager, I can't imagine you won't see it there everywhere you turn....nolestaylor wrote:I DO HOPE IT IS EASILY AVAILABLE IN TALLY THIS WEEKEND!!!

I'm sure it's pasteurized, so there shouldn't be much of a problem storing it at room temp. Probably the reason it has been seen cold only is that as someone already said they have only seen six-packs so far.
Most sixers are in the fridge for immediate consumption.
Don't worry about one cold/warm/cold cycle. It shouldn't make a noticable difference.
Next week in FL I will check it out, warm, cold, and re-cooled.

Have not verified this information, BUT...the Landshark page you can link to from margaritaville.com has a locate a retailer function, AND...shows a handful of restaurants and stores in the Myrtle Beach area as serving or selling Landshark. May have to look into this when I get off work in the morning

Just some thoughts on partnering with AB...
Their worldwide distribution is one thing they have going for them.
AB's ability to brew mass quantities of Lager is another.
The bottling capabilities are tremendous.
Their marketing is fantastic.
I'm just not sure why they would want a beer that has a relatively small demographic and don't they own Corona?
I would have much preferred that Jimmy's business people start up their own brewery.
There are a number of breweries that started out small and have made it to the national, if not international level.
Since the distribution of LSL is relatively small to begin with it should have worked just fine for an independent brewery to manufacture enough beer to satisfy the demand.
Now I know that brewing Lagers is a little more time consuming than brewing Ales but surely Jimmy Buffett inc. has deep enough pockets to support a fledgling brewery until it got off the ground.
Wouldn't it be a better product if it was made in your own backyard.
Imagine little Landshark breweries and pubs all over the country.
Imagine drinking a beer that was made with local water and bottled within 100 miles of your home.
Or better yet imagine drinking a LSL on tap at the local bar.
I don't know why, I just think that rather than adding another line to an already huge corporation just doesn't seem to fit into my perception of the parrothead lifestyle.
Part of the reason the beer is so expensive is to pay those execs at AB.
Maybe the beer had a skunky taste because it is in clear bottles or because it was not fresh or because it was exposed to the sun.
When it comes to a state near me or next time I'm in Vegas I'll give it a try. But I doubt that I will drink it on a regular basis just because it is endorsed by JB.
Sorry for the rant.

OK, a few members of my family flew to florida a few days ago and brought me back 2 6packs of landshark. well, i opened one a few minutes ago and it's not bad. i think i would recommend it without the lime. i drank half without the lime and now i wish i hadn't put the lime in the other half. i guess it's all in your taste. i give it a thumbs up.

So I'm sitting here listening to Savanah Jane B. introduce the opening song of the pre-show, and as I squeeze my lime into the blender the fragrence flashes me back to some Corona times.saltshaker1 wrote: i think i would recommend it without the lime. i drank half without the lime and now i wish i hadn't put the lime in the other half. i guess it's all in your taste. i give it a thumbs up.
I had NEVER heard of lime w/ brew before Corona, and still do it only w/ Corona. I hate Corona without the lime, yet I would'nt want to distort the taste of another beer with it.
Is it all just conditioning, or is Corona +lime really a special flavor?
Will Landshark drinkers end up 50-50 on that choice? maybe clear bottles and lime go together?

I had it both ways on Thursday... I know it's against the man code to put fruit in your beer, but I enjoyed it with the lime just as I do corona. Without the lime it seemed to lack a little flavor in my humble opinion.Longboardn' ASEL&S wrote:So I'm sitting here listening to Savanah Jane B. introduce the opening song of the pre-show, and as I squeeze my lime into the blender the fragrence flashes me back to some Corona times.saltshaker1 wrote: i think i would recommend it without the lime. i drank half without the lime and now i wish i hadn't put the lime in the other half. i guess it's all in your taste. i give it a thumbs up.

You can find LandShark warm on the shelf in Florida. We bought some in a Tallahassee supermarket. They were also selling it on draught at the concert, and I got a souvenir cup with it.inked-parrotthead wrote:Ok,gotta question,is this beer only being shipped cold to the stores in Florida? The reason I asked is Dear,sweet,mother-in-law of Inked Parrotthead was gonna ship some up to me from Florida but can only find it cold, and you know hat happens to beer when it is cold then warm, then cold again.
It is a light-bodied beer and is similar to Corona, but I agree with others that it is better than Corona. Haven't tried it with a lime (or lemon) yet.
The label reads "Authentic Island Lager" brewed in Jacksonville, Fla., which, of course, is not an island! Oh well ... I guess it is one particular harbor....
