The label reads "Authentic Island Lager" brewed in Jacksonville, Fla., which, of course, is not an island! quote]

The "genuine" Key Limes I purchased in Key West had a "product of Mexico" lable.
Miller Lite's lable proudly displays the words "A Fine Pilsner".
I should be able to try a Landshark by 8:00 am Fri.
I've got it figured out-I'll drive from Detroit straight to the FL border with 2 gas stops, pick up the Landshark at a gas station, drink a few legaly somewhere, and let my wife drive to Kissimmee where we stored the boards and rods. Might as well start the first sleepless day in style.
Depending on weather, either Cocoa Beach to surf or the Keys to fish and chill.
Lime or no fruit, decent taste or not, I'm sure I'll enjoy it after driving all night.

I was just on the Landshark lager website and it you enter you zip code, you can find out what bars and distributors in your area carry it, I found about 4 bars and 5 distributors in NY on Long Island that have it. I will have to take a trip to one and try it out [smilie=coolup.gif]

According the the website, the grocery store 1.8 miles from me has it -- or will have it. :o

There's supposed to be a beer distributor 7/10 of a mile from my house that carries it and another one just over a mile in the other direction. I'm still not buying it.

I was all excited about getting one at the FL border, and now that I checked out the web-site I find that it is available 2 miles from my house!
I guess it's time to change the name of this topic to Landshark only FL ...NOT!

I did the same. Punched in my zip code, and came up with three gas stations and two spirits shops that were supposed to have Landshark. Now, being in the home of Frozen Tundra, I didn't get my hopes too up, but I drove out to check it out. Skipped the gas stations, but stopped at the first store. They'd never even heard of Landshark... asked if I meant Corona when I mentioned Jimmy Buffett. :-?

Moving on, I hit up the other store. Same story, never heard of it, but I got some hope there. A guy from the local Budweiser distributor was hanging out there. He said he'd heard that AB had drawn Jimmy away from Corona, and that they were working on a project that was in test markets now. Told me that as soon as it was available in WI, that store would have it.

Huzzah! Now those of us in Cold State, USA have to just hope it succeeds in Florida and Vegas.

I also dispatched an e-mail to Landshark asking how they'd determined what stores in each zip code were carrying the beer. Got a form mail back that didn't really answer the question. Oh well.

Nothing in our area. :(

BUT... I told my local (county line) liquor store I was going to a Buffett concert in Tallahassee, as I was buying supplies. She said to bring something back for her. I said how about a Landshark Lager? She said she'd buy it from me. :) Maybe I can get her to carry it.

After getting a few venders when I put Myrtle Beach into the locater, I set of on my quest, only to return empty handed. E-mailed the LandShark people and got the not yet available in your area reply. Seems like they shouldn't put the locater up if it's not going to give correct information, but that's just my opinion. Anyway, being ever hopeful, I was still searching for it everywhere I went, to no avail. Fast forward to this morning, when my girlfriend shows up at my door with breakfast (Mickey D's :D ) and my Valentine's Day present...a six pack of LandShark! Courtesy of a friend of her brother in Florida. After I get off work in the morning, I'm gonna have me some!

I should see if my dad in Jacksonville can pick me up a 6-pack. Only question becomes shipping alcohol to Wisconsin. Not sure if that's legal.

Sounds like a good reason for a roadtrip, though!

m & mm, you have to admit it's nice to be able to peel and stick the Landshark "keepsake" label right onto our Hoot Island name tags!!

The labels really do work kinda like decals... peel and stick to decorate. :P

I figured everyone on BN was up to snuff on drinking and shipping laws!

There is a website www.internetwines.com that ships directly to your house (unless of course you are unlucky enough to be in one of the listed states)...

here is a clip from the checkout page:
Internet Wines & Spirits

Orders for wine or spirits require an adult signature on delivery. We cannot ship alcoholic beverages to: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, and Wyoming. A business name must be included for delivery to a commercial address. Internet Wines and Spirits is not responsible for loss or damage that occurs after a package has been signed for.

I'm not sure if they have Landshark yet. I can get it down the street so I haven't checked. Of course, the lady in the store down the street knows me by name now!

Good Luck!

I brought 2 empty bottles home on the plane so I could add them to my collection. But I still don't think it's a very good beer.

Nah, most of the time, I'm happy with what I can get locally. Only other time I've really wanted something I couldn't get here was a bottle of Richard Childress wine for my parents. I look at locally unobtainable drinks as a reason to drive to where the drink is.

Sadly, I'm more up on how to effectively ship paintball gear than I am on shipping alcohol. :-?
