Just wondering what is everyone's thoughts about Firefox as a web browser?
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

E just put it on my desktop - cause IE7 updates screwed up my computer somehow. I fought it at first - cause I'm a creature of habit. Because of wearing bifocals the open window tabs up top, rather than below I'm not fond of, but otherwise it's ok. :)

You too about IE 7 huh? Somehow that screwed up the java on my computer and now I can't go to some sites because of it.

Love Firefox, been using it quite awhile. The extensions, the tabbed browsing (although the new IE has that now, too), a pretty good pop-up blocker, and Firefox 2 has a built-in spell checker now.

I've had it for about 4 years, no problems. Also have IE7 with no problems. I seem to have fewer popups with Firefox.

Only problems I ever have are with the few sites that are too
narrowly designed to accommodate browsers other than IE.

P.S. I never use tabs.

Firefox is hot. There are some sites that are not very compatable with da Fox. For example, it usually crashes on me when I am on MSN at lunchtime so I just use IE for that site.

I use Firefox. I like it. Only problem is that there are still some websites out there written with software so old that Firefox can't display them properly. I don't find many of them, but they exist.

Yes, I live and die by Firefox. I have to keep IE, because some websites (e.g. my travel group's site) doesn't work on Firefox. However, pages that don't work with Firefox are getting few and far between.

Not to mention, you can pretty much set up the browser how ever you want it. Try to accomplish that with ANY Microsoft product.

I love it and use it almost exclusively at home. I can't use it at work because it's not the "Approved Browser." I love being able to use the tabs instead of constantly opening new windows. I guess the tabbed feature is in IE7, but I don't know for sure.

My one complaint, is that whatever version of Firefox I have installed at home (I have no idea if it's the newest one or not 'cause hubby just reimaged our computer) that it doesn't seem to support .pdf documents which is a huge-downer. :-?

For those that either don't want/can't install IE7 or Firefox and would like to have tabbed browsing try Maxthon (http://maxthon.com/. It is basically a skin on top of IE6+ that adds functionality that IE should of had to begin with.

As for those that say they need IE to open specific pages have you tried the IE Tab plugin?https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/

I use it at home almost exclusively, except for a couple of sites with Javascript that it doesn't handle correctly. I use Safari for those.

I'm using IE6 at the office, but occasionally contemplate switching. :)

What s*cks is that video on some major news sites, including CNN.com and (not surprisingly) MSNBC.com, doesn't work in Firefox on my Mac. (*grumble*)
