What song would you most like to hear Jimmy cover?
Moderator: SMLCHNG
Just listened to the Houston version of It's A Crazy World again.
Mac told Jimmy he was 16 when he wrote that song. Jimmy said he'll sing with Mac and he works cheap. Song was done totally acoustic with playing guitar and Jimmy singing background vocals. So good.
Makes you wonder how you can NOT recognize these special moments and songs when you are right there and they just don't register until they are driven home at some other point.

Love Into The Mystic. Seems like that might be a hard one to do. Unique vocals, etc.blowinupinmissoula wrote:sooo...this is now my 3rd post on here but i keep running across songs in itunes. i think some Van Morrison would be great to hear JB do:
Into The Mystic
Moondance(great to dance to)
etc...
Might be nice to hear Jimmy and the CR take on it. I don't think I've ever heard anyone do it as well as the original recording.

Oooh, thought of another one: Tales From Topographic Oceans! The whole thing, 100 minutes of it! It's deeply philosophical but it's also got that aquatic theme so near and dear to Jimmy's heart!

But regardless of anything else, no more Stones, Beatles or Neil Diamond tunes. He kills them.

Johnny Cash recorded a song in the 70s for his "Any Old Wind That Blows"
Lp called "The Ballad Of Annie Palmer". I always imagine Jimmy Singing this song... I think Cash wrote it while at his home in Montego Bay. But what a cool song for Jimmy to do.

I'd love to see him do something by Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show. Preferably "Queen of the Silver Dollar", but "Roland the Roadie and Gertrude the Groupie" could work pretty well also.
I figure they could follow "Woman Goin Crazy on Caroline Street".

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Tarkus by ELP!
Ev'ry blade is sharp; the arrows fly
Where the victims of your armies lie,
Where the blades of brass and arrows reign
Then there will be no sorrow,
Be no pain.
Oh man, Utley could really rock out on that one... but could he play upside down and backwards, I wonder?
