Tomorrow is my son's 3rd b-day party (today is his actual b-day). We want to do hot wings which we normally do baked, but this time will do in the Crock Pot for ease-of-transportation.
Anyone have a good recipe for wings in a slow cooker/crock pot?
We have one I found on
http://www.allrecipes.com which is a site I use quite often, but I know BNrs prolly can do better.
Thanks in advance!

Hiya Mal! Unless you thoroughly brown the wings first, they will come out with soggy skin in a crock pot. I would do them the usual way, then use the slow cooker to keep them warm

I was wonderin' if that might happen. My "usual" way is pretty labor intensive so I wasn't very excited about that.

Mal, I've never tried this, but it seems you could put the wings on a cookie sheet or broiler pan and broil them for crispiness and being cooked. Season with a little onion and garlic powder. Then transfer them to the crock pot with with the hot sauce and butter.

cooking anything over hot coals right now would require going outside. it's -12 at my house right now. i don't think so.

So far, that's lookin' like the plan.

I've tried wings in a crockpot before. And YES, they do come out soggy. Nothing says loving than straight from the oven
