ok I just did it again - and my entire name .. address and phone number come up in the little search paragraph

My actual name googled shows a British science fiction author, primarily known for his Dragonfall 5 series.

as for googling myself, i got nuffin'. my maiden name brings up the article from the paper when hubby and i were married, but that's it.

And none of those are actually me.
When I added my location, the 2nd, 3rd, and 7th results was actually me.

Because of my music thang and how long I've been on the Net, I get nine out of the top ten hits for my name. There are about 67K items total for "Loren Davidson." I share a name with some guy in the Midwest who's a bass fisherman, two or three musicians and/or Web designers in the Pacific Northwest, a few women, and a Native American who died in a fire or some such, a few years back.

I also found some of the interesting places that my name and music have migrated to that I had nothing whatsoever to do with.

There's even one or two people using some of my song lyrics in their .sig files - the ultimate compliment.

Here's another odd one: Back before the Internet, I used to belong to the Society for Creative Anachronism. One night, just for grins and giggles, I entered my old SCA name into Google, and I got a bunch of hits. About half of them were links to various renditions of a couple of songs I wrote back around 1980. A couple of those had new verses that were still getting attributed to me. I have no clue what music they're using to sing along with those...but I have an odd feeling I'm going to be in a filk room at a science fiction convention someday and hear someone doing one of my old songs.

Google: Because what happens on the Internet...*stays* on the Internet. Often for much longer than you can possibly imagine.

10 out of 20 hits were me...
