signs of Spring ?????
I was always told that the first sure sign of spring is the appearance of Robins in you yard. Well they came last week along with that groundhog stuff and now there's been a low in the teens here in the Northeast for days now. Even though March is still just around the corner it's cold. One saving grace is that I am not still in WVA as we were this weekend. They were closing schools due to the cold temps (not snow or ice). Now that's COLD! Still haven't shot six holes in my freezer.

robin are a sign of spring - so are tulips blooming.
robins showed up here about 2 weeks ago and are still hanging around. i guess they realize it is too cold to go any further north.

I guess you could count yesterday as a sign of spring. Got up to 48 degrees and sunny after two weeks of below freezing. We thought it was absolutely beautiful.
Today, though, we're back in the freezer. Highs in the twenties, lows in the friggin colds.
(I realize those of you in the great white north think temps in the twenties means shirt-sleeves weather. Still feels cold to me, though.
)
I need to go where it's warm............

My mums from Sept. were green and had flowers and buds on them before this week. The back bay is now a thin sheet of ice. I woke up this morning to find a fresh inch of snow on the ground. As for signs of spring, that inch of snow melted quickly in the afternoon sun, and it appears as if the days are finally getting longer although that could just be the sun radiating from myself

Not a single sign of Spring. I was out for a run this AM up here in Pennsylvania, and it was real cold w/ a fresh dusting of snow. I think Siberia would be warmer.

sorry.. but they close schools a lot more regularly in the east than they do on the other side of the Mississippi...CrznDnUS1 wrote:I was always told that the first sure sign of spring is the appearance of Robins in you yard.
