Seeing the recent post about the business using Jimmy's music reminded me that some number of years ago there was a story that The Weather Channel was going to play Jimmy as background music during local forecasts. Anyone else remember this, and if so, why did it never happen?

Yes, I absolutely remember it, and mentioned it to someone recently. But I have no idea why it didn't happen.

Funny you should mention that! I totally remember that, and just about every time we flip The Weather Channel, I wonder why that never actually got off the ground. So, no real answer for you, other than GPHMTA!

There was a time way back when TWC was using the Bannana Wind instrumental during forecasts. I seem to remember it was in the summer. Would have been nice here in New England this morning with those 0 degree wind chills!

I remember the weather channel actually had a contest where you could enter online for some Buffett goodies....early internet days...mid-90's!! I didn't win ..it was Barometer Soup timeframe....

Shoot! I missed it!

The "good" news is, though, that now I have that song in my head and it has perked up my day!

Me too! (at least with the song in my head part)

Maybe the weather channel will start again. maybe if they see it here they will try again. Something about "boat drinks" playing when they talk about wind chill might make me feel better.
