After seeing this movie mentioned in A Salty Piece Of Land multiple times, I have finally seen it.
I got it in the mail a few days ago, called in "sick"

today and just got finished watching it.
I really enjoyed it and can see why Tully/Jimmy likes it.
I thought it was quite funny and a pretty good adventure.
Almost like a "buddy" movie I guess.
I enjoyed the banter between Peachy (Michael Caine) and Danny (Sean Connery).
That is all.

back when both of them were not the "franchises" they have become now. Good solid film, based on a good solid story.

That is one of my all time favorite movies.

ANY movie with Sean Connery is worth calling in sick for.

Great movie, although the ending has always left me questioning.
WARNING: Spoiler alert, do not read if you haven't seen it (although I can't really ruin much that wasn't already let out in ASPOL)
Why leave the head? Why cut it off? I do like the fact that the only peice of treasure that Peachy takes with him is the crown, and he leaves it behind (almost like the allure for treasure has left him after the ordeal). Is this just some way to get Kipling involved again, since this is a story is told from his perspective? I beleive in the actual story that Peachy goes off and dies after seeing Kipling at the end, and this makes things a little clearer to me, as if he had to tell what happened to make the journey worthwhile. Has anyone read the short story or shed light on the ending?
