im going with great woods on this! i have a lot of great memories there and hope to have jimmy return there next year.
jones beach to me has always been a lame crowd.even with the perfect atmosphere of jimmy, beach, sand and summer the shows and tailgating to me just are never as good as they are in other venues(great woods, msg, mohegan sun, south hampton college). they dont serve beer either.

Best tailgate
Thank you for all the input. I saw my first Buffett concert at Alpine last year and it was a little overwhelming. My wife and I are going back this year. There is so much going on there. We hope to see Jimmy in other venues but for now Alpine is the best choice. Will try to get Freddy tickets one of these next few years if he still plays in Aspen.

Where are the best tailgaters
There is no doubt that the best tailgater is held in Orland Park Illinois prior to the Saturday show at First Midwest. Don't you agree Mac Fan? How about it Woman Goin' Crazy? POW what do ya think/ Won't be the same with Lil Miss Magic in Japan but it gives us a reason for next year.

I have to represent the SoCal Shows! (I agree that all tailgating is different and depend on where you are and what your style is!)
I'm a HUGE Irvine fan. I love the fact that you can walk the rows and they mix the crazys with the "normal" people (because by the end of day the "normal" people have turned crazy). There was also a low-turn out of the INLAND kids (which have been abundant over the years.) and the cops have mellowed out a little bit.
I wasnt a big fan of Anaheim the years JB partied there. Probably because RV Row was soooo far away and I was always feeling that I was missing something. The Cops were GREAT (even when I flashed em....
dont ask....but then again I drank WAY to much that year) but people were boring.
Las Vegas is....well....Las Vegas. It was different, still fun. You just dont see the craziness that you're use to because it just blends in. The MGM party was great, met alot of cool pholks (but paying for alcohol sucks)
My two cents....

Re: My tailgating experiences
Buckeye Lake- gone but not forgotten- big empty field in the middle of nowhere!! Great place even w/ mudslides.
sounds like you were at the great flood show! so was i, it was quite an experience. i lost one of my flip-flops in a HUGE mudpuddle, had to go bare-footin' the rest of the night...didnt want to think what i was stepping in.

I think each venue I went to last year was the best, Pittsburgh had an incredible tailgate. Mohegan was laid back but the sound inside was great. Camden was hot, hot, hot, but a phriendly fireman from Delaware or maybe it was Maryland
brought a fire hose with him and was kind enough to open a hydrant for all of us to enjoy. MSG preparty at Mo's Caribbeans rocked, drinking volcano's, sharing stories with phriends met at previous concerts, and then a quick cab ride
I've met so many great people over the years at different venues, I really think you make your own greatest venue

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do So throw off the bowlines Sail away from the safe harbor Catch the trade winds in your sails Explore Dream Discover

The current/last one you were at is the best!!
Let's face it, who cares how good it is if you were not there to enjoy it.
To me the best one is always the last one I was at. We build on our every tailgate, had them in the rain, in the heat, in the high wind and they just get better everytime as we learn what works and doesn't.
Pretty much to the point where it becomes the event and the show becomes secondary but of course we have to go in and see if we made the Buffettvision screen.

Best Place to Party
I have been Alpine Valley, Tinely Park and Wrigely....they all have been great but I have to agree Alpine is the best. You can tailgate all day and it is a great wide open ares.
Couldn't tailgate at Wrigleyville...but it was still fun.
Never been to a Bad show yet.
Going there and Houston this year.[/img]
