There is someone else to voice an opinion to and that is the person above Huntington and that is the Director of Rock Programming for Sirius Gary Schoenwetter. He is the one who brought in the current Orlando host. Also, there is the Sirius Customer Care section to complain to (url below.) Darren, I would have emailed you, but I see you don't have your email addy available. Feel free to email me and I can provide contact info if the Customer Care link offers no response.

I have heard that there might be changes around the month of June at the Orlando site. I hope that the change does not mean the end of broadcasting from there. It would be a shame to eliminate this because of a possible bad hire and to have relied on one individual to sink or swim something like that.

Cool...I will drop Gary an email too. I have received no responses from Steve Huntington or J.D....and don't expect to receive one from Gary...but, I am a firm believer in making sure my bitching and moaning is at least given the opportunity to be heard. I subscribed to Sirius ONLY to listen to RadioMargaritaville. I want a rebate on the 20 hrs a week J.D. ruins for me!! :pirate:

I just stopped listening to JD when he is on. Unfortunately I also listen a lot less at other times now. I have written to SH numerous times but to no avail. The fact is it’s the music business. The thoughts of an old PH doesn’t matter and hasn’t for a long time but it is what it is. Demographics and target audience along with dollars (quarterly earning reports & stock price) matter. RM will continue to change just like FM radio has changed.

The whole music industry is messed up. They have gotten away from what matters most and that’s the music. Purchase a CD now and get 1 or 2 good songs and the rest is garbage. They complain that CD sales are down and blame it on people swapping recordings. Have they forgotten that the cassette tape had been around for a considerable time before CDs? Albums don’t matter any more, what matters are hit singles that can be downloaded 5M times at $0.99.

That’s enough ranting. The music industry just can’t help screw things up these days and RM recent decisions are no different.

I have no problem with the DJ's, I have a problem with the station playing the SAME songs (Jimmy and non Jimmy) every day or so!

Since the transition to a live broadcast in Orlando, my listening has gone way down at work. Too many long commentaries and "commercials" on Landshark Lager and cheeseburgers, etc. I listen for the music and for a variety of music I can't hear on local radio. If music isn't being played I'm not going to listen. At the moment I think my music collection is better than what I've been hearing on RM lately. Please find a DJ who can broaden our musical horizons and find new bands that fit under the buffett/margaritaville/carribean/beach/carefree lifestyle musical umbrella

but that's just me...

"As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly." We were just talking about WKRP in the office. They keep threaten to release the originals on DVD with the correct songs, but so far no dice. Hmmm, I feel a new thread coming on....

JD just started off his afternoon broadcast today talking about the Cincinnati show tonight and how great it is to see a show there (wonder if he's ever even seen a show?? but that's a different topic...) and did a decent job of it, until he said that the show is part of the Bama Breeze Tour, a tour to promote the Bama Breeze Album!?!?!

Sorry to drag this topic back up, but I couldn't let this one slide... I keep trying to give this guy a chance, but he's got to know at least his basic facts!

I totally agree. I tend to turn him off when I see "JD in Orlando" on my Sirius radio screen. He's just awful!! [smilie=thumbdown.gif]

The other day he played a cut from the Wrigley Field concerts and made some remark about Jimmy referring to "Wrigleyville" as if he was calling Wrigley Field "Wrigleyville". I guess that JD doesn't know what the neighborhood around Wrigley Field is called.

My complaint about RM is the repetitiveness of the choice of Jimmy tunes. Some seem to be played to death and others get little air play. I still enjoy most of the other music and the variety that FM radio comes no where near providing.
