Maybe just a mispronunciation, but he said Doyle's name that way twice just now.....
I want to give the guy a chance, but really..... mispronouncing Doyle's name and screwing up Peter's music just shouldn't happen on RM.... I'm not impressed....

A DJ who needs an intro to Buffett class belongs on a college radio station, not RM.....

since he's there live, that makes sense, but imho you still gotta get the big stuff right.....
It's a great idea to try and draw more of a live crowd during the typically slow lunch/afternoon time for the restaurant. However, it seems you'd need and want your best vs. newest, least knowledgable and least experienced person for this slot because getting the right balance between the live and broadcast audience makes this job that much more complex.
And, it's a tough slot for the new guy to jump into...he hasn't exactly been set up for success. It's akin to Jimmy adding a couple new band members and not rehearsing before playing a show...or telling the band on stage they're going to play a song they've never rehearsed. It's an unnecessarily risky situation.
"Reading departure signs in some big airport reminds me of the places I've been"
I'll still have to support the new guy. He gave me my 15 seconds, that's the best I've done so far in 53 years.
Realisticaly, RM has every Parrothead regardless.
They probably are looking to boost the number of Sirius subscribers, as well as attract customers to the restaurant, and introduce NEW people to the music, especially as in "This is Jimmy, and here's a cut off my new CD".
We love JB, but as far as satellite radio goes he's no Oprah, Howard, NASCAR, MLB, NFL, NBA or even Eminem in terms of potential radio subscribers.
We're very lucky to have the channel period, we might have to let them market to the masses, they probably figure they can ignore the choir.

I wish I could say you were out of your mind.....but I can see it happening.
If he mentions Cheeseburgers one more time....sigh...
You know....he really reminds me of the the dude at a show that knows SYKBH and nothing else but is trying too hard.
I'd love to give him a break....but it's not getting better.....when is RM going to pull the plug on this experiment and find a DJ that doesn't alienate much of the core audience?

I'm gonna have to chime in on this one, this guy is so friggin annoying, like fingernails on the chaulkboard. Not sure if he's just trying too hard to be cool or what, but he needs to just go away.
Had the radio in the boat turned up louder than usual the other day cuz a bunch of us were sitting on the docks. Two different people, who had never even listened to RM before, commented "man, that guy is annoying, can we listen to another channel?"
If we could make Jimmy sit and listen to him for an hour, I'm thinkin' he'd get the boot!
BTW, I listen to The Bridge on 10 a fair bit, anyone else? Not bad for "easy rock", as they call it.
Now I'm really starting to wonder about JD.
An hour or so ago he recommended that anyone driving down to the Keys should get off the turnpike in Orlando and stop in to see him at Margaritaville. Fair enough, but he said he will give them all kinds of tips on the Keys from his experience.
Then, he went on to say "So while your driving along A1A , and heading across the 7 mile bridge..........
Uh, it's U.S. 1 only after Miami and A1A doesn't start back up untill you've crossed the very last bridge from Stock Island to Key West.
Turn left for A1A (South Roosevelt), or right for U.S. 1, North Roosevelt.
I don't mean to be nit-picky, but if he's not only gonna be the voice of Margaritaville, but act as a tour guide as well, he better show a little more knowledge of the basics, including Jimmy's music .

When I've heard other people (non-PHs) compare XM and Sirius, I have never heard RM ever brought up.
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,

He read the dates (starting with Gillette ) that we already knew. Could have been reading from the BN page.
Nothing new.
But I have to agree...not much there in the way of bringing something new to the table. He's bad. Probably more of a club DJ, not used to radio I think.
My biggest fear is that when I die, my wife will sell all my Buffett stuff for what I said I paid for it!
