Cabin to Cockpit - Open the Door and let me OFF!

This is called "weather roulette". Instead of outright cancelling flights when weather conditions are rapidly deteriorating, airlines keep filling airplanes with "SLF" and dispatching them into and out of airports whose ramps and taxiways turn into parking lots.
Yeah, yeah I know you can't just open the door and let folks wander off into the snow, but maybe the managers in Commercial should defer to the managers in Dispatch once in a while and cut their losses by cancelling flights rather than push the situation, thus ensuring that passengers get stuck on the ground in a smelly, cramped aircraft cabin for 11 hours! This is just assinine!
Trust me - the pilots don't like it either.

*SLF = self loading freight

I think after a few hours, everybody with a cell phone should dial 911 and say they were being held against their will. Perhaps a visit from the local constabulary would get these dumbasses to do something.

I think I would use my cell phone to contact the media. And somebody on the plane would likely know who the local reporters are that make their careers on this type of stuff.

about the point that I ran out of book, and the iPaq was going dead... "excuse me, stewardess? I want to get the f*($* off this thing." oh, wait... that would constitute threatening a glorified waitress and get me tagged with a PATRIOT Act violation..

There was a similar incident a couple weeks ago in Austin, TX involving American Airlines. (The people were stuck on the plane on the tarmac for 11 hours).
This sh*t ONLY happens in the U.S.
The airlines in THIS country treat their passengers like cattle and don't give a rat's rear end of their paying customers-FOOD FOR PURCHASE???
GIVE ME A F'ING BREAK!
On the other side of the coin, FOREIGN airlines treat their passengers like GODS.
(If you've ever flown business class on British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, or ANY of the others, you know what I'm talking about).
There's no excuse whatsoever for what these bas--rds did.
