Is this the year of the All Out Stadium Tours???

Post by Dr.Corona »

2 dates in Foxboro, Minute Maid Park in Houston, more Wrigley rumors.....Is this the summer where the Stadium shows take over and the Amphitheaters and Arenas get snubbed?? :-?

Say it ain't so JB! Keep the Riverbends and DTEs and Tweeters on your stop lists this summer! I would rather scratch & claw, murder & mame to get small venue tix than secure stadium seats and sit 400 + feet away with acoustics that stink!!

I hope not. I'd rather sit on the lawn at Indy or Chicago then in a statium. Better tailgating too!

The Wrigley rumor pretty much ended with the discussion of Sting and the Police playing Wrigley. And, now we have an Alpine date and a Tinley Park date.

I hope not. Certainly more people will get to see the show, and there (hopefully) won't be the scramble for tickets that there usually is at the ampitheaters, (I prefer even smaller venues), but I hate to lose the luster of the smaller show...

I'm also hoping he has negotiated tailgaiting into these stadium contracts. Image

Last year both parties came very close to booking an engagement at Orioles Stadium at Camden Yard. Now I never expect to see Jimmy Buffett at Merriweather Post Pavilion again (in nearby Columbia MD), but I wonder if a stadium tour date in Baltimore spells trouble for Nissan Pavilion in N. Virginia. I hope not...

To add to the original post, could the stadium tour possibly mean a farewell to JB on tour? Now that he is 60, maybe this is his time to go out on a huge note, making sure that all of his fans get a chance to see him before he calls it quits.

At last years show he played video collage and basically did a "thank you" song to the fans. I remember people walking out of Great Woods making comments like "wow, do you think that means he getting ready to call it quits?" People around me were really questioning JB's touring future.

Just a thought.

I don't think the stadium thing means the end of JB on stage. If you think about it all the heavy hitters have done the stadium thing for a season so it's not a big surprise especially if you can put the fannys in the seats.

Maybe the Stadium shows are more about him not having to listen to "I can't get tickets" or "Damn scalpers" or "Tickets were sold out in two minutes" crap :)
Could it be that he hears us?

For the last two years I've been hearing THIS is gonna be the last tour...... It'll happen but for now We've been given another "Labor Day weekend show"

That's what I think. :)
