Congrats on the baby. I was pregant a couple years ago with twins at the Wrigley concert! NO way was I going to miss Jimmy at Wrigley even if I was 7 months pregnant with twins.

My shirt had "parakeets on board" Twins to the left, twins to the right.

I was exhausted by the end of the day, and sober, but it was well worth it. Thank God I will not be having any more kids.
7 months pregnant WITH twins at a Buffett show... wow! I missed this show (the only show I have missed since moving to Chicago in '95). Just goes to show what strong people we are, and the historical value of those shows.

I'll be driving in early that morning, and back home to Iowa after the concert.
So, nothing to drink except diet pepsi after 6:00 PM.

Ok, here's a question to keep us posting.

What does everyone do for a living, and why does that make you look forward to the concert?

I've driven through Dubuque on my way to The Field of Dreams. I love Galena too. Thats still a long ass drive. I usually hit a wall after the Buffett show.

Ok, just so the post keeps going......
I live in st. louis and I am a nurse.. Lots of hectic work and to go see Jimmy and party with PARROTHEADS is a great way to "get away from it all"...

Huh? That party I just came from down there for MArdi Gras was awesome!? However a Buffett Show will be much better though with less flesh.

I am an employment recruiter. I help people find work. I do help some really good people and good companies and then there is the lion's share that isn't so great to deal with. THe stress in trying to deal with an unpredicatable commodity - people - is terribly stressful. With unemployment at a low it makes my job even tougher.

The stories I could tell you would make you question us as a society.

The concerts are my chance not to care and enjoy life. I see life as Jimmy does in alot of ways but this doesn't make my job any easier. I use it to escape to a place that I can enjoy stress free if even a few weekends a year.

Born & raised in Cedar Rapids.
I now work in Iowa City, and live about 15 miles west of there in Oxford-a town so small, the local hooker is a virgin.

One lady I work with is from Dubuque.

It was our first trip to MArdi Gras in St. Louis. We had such a good time we plan to do it for a few more years until our wives let us hit NOLA

I agree there will be lots of excitement-but it seems as if I have an easier time getting concert tickets than I do finding a motel room. Everything in Tinley Park is booked, so I'm taking the easy way out and driving home afterwards.

THere are many hotels along I-80. LaGrange Rd (45) and I-80. Joliet has several. We live in PLainfield and its a 20 minute trek up 80 but there are plenty of cheap stays between here and there. Save yourself the trouble.

I guess thr rule is book a room when dates are announced. If you get tickets your set. If you don't you can cancel.

I've stayed at the Motel 6 in Joliet in years past.
I went on line about three days after I got my ticket to book a motel room and there was nothing available.
I've waited as late as May before reserving a room-so I'm guessing there's something else going on in the Chicago area that weekend.
No big deal- it probably sounds like a crazy thing to do, but I'm sure once I actually GET home, I'll be glad I came back right away.

As for what I do, for 3 years I was a stay-at-home mom, while I finished up my BS. Recently I entered the work field full time as a Web Developer. I look at a computer screen all day, and code, so anything outside away from wires and plugs is good by me.
