I was married in Key West... Awesome place...
We went a few times before the wedding, and just decided WTF let's get married here... on the beach, sunset, the whole 9...
Just us and 30 of our friends.... KW would be our place.
Also, on the list... Vegas, Sannibel area in FL, back to CO, and
either San Diego, or Bay area in CA... I lived in LA once, and no thanks.

I'm waaaay behind too.. Dang.. Ok, here goes....Nicki wrote:Ooops, I 'm already a day behind on the "Tinley Goers Question of the Day."
I'm a retired speech therapist who works part-time an art museum. I love the Buffett ambience (sp?) and since ejr "adopted" me a couple years ago I've loved traveling to Chicago for a summertime show. Chicago is one of my favorite places; I love Minneapolis, too, except for a couple months each year when it's waaaaaay too cold. If I had to relocate, I'd probably pick the Pacific Northwest. I love to travel and am looking forward to a trip to Chile in just 9 more days.
Looking forward to meeting all of you in July!
My name is Tracy. I'm from Connecticut. I am currently in my second year of law school and also work as a legal researcher for the Chief State's Attorney here in CT. I love going to Buffett concerts because I have to be so flippin sserious all day at work and school so when I let loose, I really let loose.... I have people who can attest to this fact. My motto - work hard, play hard.
As to where I'd love to live. I'm not sure.. I have lived lots of places all over the country, and I keep coming back to CT. It's where my family is, and I love my family. I'm very very close to them. I guess if I was to move anywhere, I'd love to live in Northern Cali. My kind of pace.

Me--- I love living in St. Louis.... (that's sad)
But have been to Tahiti!!!! Talk about BEUTYFULLLLLL!!!
I would move there in a minute.... talk about laid back island time!
Have yet to do Key West.. Hopefully soon. And I always thought I would love to buy a house St. Croix even though I've never been there yet either!

I'm way behind as well........
My name is Jim and I currently reside in the enchanted mitten (Michigan) working as an automotive engineer (a quickly dying breed in Michigan - I've heard we are going to get guv'ment protection soon).
I have lived and travelled around the world and the U.S. and doubt if any one place will ever be a permanent home. I like the summers in the northern parts of Michigan below the bridge but the mountains of Virginia, OBX and Savannah, GA. or St. Croix are great places to reside as well. I also enjoy the Tokyo megalopolis and like the time I've lived there.

Jackpot now this thread is moving . . . .
Someone else will need to chime in early tomorrow for Thursdays question of the day.
It's odd how us Midwesterners prefer the Midwest. I enjoy traveling alot but I enjoy home just as much.

The Parrot Dice Lounge kinda like a mirage. Here today and gone tomorrow. You should stop by and say hello when visiting Chicago on tour.

I couldn't imagine christmas with out the snow. I do like the 4 seasons, but I only need winter about 6 weeks. From Thanksgiving until New Years, then it can be warm again.mjeischen wrote:Jackpot now this thread is moving . . . .

I guess I don't get it. I mean I understand Alpine is an all day party morning through night. No reason Tinley can't be a party. It's all what people make of it. After years of being able to tailgate for Jimmy people are still shokced you can tailgate.
Speaking of which I wonder when we can get the info on the Parking Lot opening that day . . . I'm toooooooo excited.
I emailed the venue to see what kind of silly intern answer I will get about no tailgating.

So you are not driving all day and night for Alpine? Do you just not like us in Chicago!?Wino you know wrote:I confess to being a "double agent."
But I haven't been posting too much over there-they know I'm going, they know where I'm staying, they know where my seat is, and they know I'm drinking. (Just a little).
Why else do I need to post there?

I have a thought on a tailgate activity which will involve silly little prizes. Nothing of monetary value but hopefully a fond memory when looked at or thought of down the road. These prizes will obviously be a cost which I am more than willing to make. My thought was to host my activity and allow people to participate for $1 or 5 for $3. It's a game of the carnival variety with a Buffett theme and prize pool. There would be a winner everytime until we are out of prizes. My thought was to do this accepting donations for a local charity. Do you think this is acceptable or just a dumb idea that won't pan out?

Every year tailgating at Tinley seams to get earlier each year. Last year we went to Holiday Inn around 12pm and then made our way over to the venue around 1:30/2 . We had preferred parking so we were up twards the front.
Usually the anwser the venue usually sends is the park will open 3 hours before the show starts, but I think they just have to say it. When the traffic starts backing up on the main streets, they have to open the lots.

OK .......I'm in Connecticut......and i'm in sales...i'm a very quiet and shy person........I look forward to the concert...because after busting my butt all week it takes the edge off a way to relax....... it's also great to see old friends and meeting new ones..... It helps me forget the real world for a while and how cruel it can be!!..bottom line..Good Food....good drinks.....good music and good friends!!LonePalm1 wrote:Ok, here's a question to keep us posting.
What does everyone do for a living, and why does that make you look forward to the concert?

I'm driving up to Janesville (for the Alpine concert) on the Friday before the concert, and leaving for home on Sunday-the day after the concert.mjeischen wrote:So you are not driving all day and night for Alpine? The Chicago concert will be a "there and back" for me because I'm not able to get a hotel room-NOT because I don't like somebody-I love ALL you guys, but all the motels were booked, and Jimmy won't let me stay with him.

We were in the lot by 2pm last year, and NOWHERE near the front of the lot... I would gamble and say they opened at noon last year...LonePalm1 wrote:Every year tailgating at Tinley seams to get earlier each year.
