You do know that as things get closer, if you are able to stay, someone here will offer to have you stay with them. and no, not me-Nicki gets one bed and I get the other! But Garry, I am sure you'll be able to find a place to stay if you want.Wino you know wrote:I'm driving up to Janesville (for the Alpine concert) on the Friday before the concert, and leaving for home on Sunday-the day after the concert.mjeischen wrote:So you are not driving all day and night for Alpine? Do you just not like us in Chicago!?Wino you know wrote:I confess to being a "double agent."
But I haven't been posting too much over there-they know I'm going, they know where I'm staying, they know where my seat is, and they know I'm drinking. (Just a little).
Why else do I need to post there?
The Chicago concert will be a "there and back" for me because I'm not able to get a hotel room-NOT because I don't like somebody-I love ALL you guys, but all the motels were booked, and Jimmy won't let me stay with him.

I'm sure I will-but since I'll be at Alpine the following weekend and at the Mets/Cubs game the weekend after that, I'm thinking I probably SHOULD drive home after the concert.ejr wrote:You do know that as things get closer, if you are able to stay, someone here will offer to have you stay with them. and no, not me-Nicki gets one bed and I get the other! Unless, of course, Jimmy lets me stay with him.

HA I got a reply from The First Midwest Ampitheatre:
"Matt,
For Jimmy Buffett the lot is never opened as early as 1pm. It is usually around 4pm. You need to give us a call at 708-614-1616 closer to the event to find out the final details. We do not have final details until a week before the event, that is when the tour confirms their desicisions. Have a good one."
When I looked at my watch last year it was 2:30-3 pm and I was surrounded by Parrotheads in a praking lot strangely similar to their venue which when the concert time started put me just outside the actual theatre!? I love when Tinley park plays this game with people every year.
When I got there at 2:30 there were many there before me waiting for my arrival.

The Parrot Dice Lounge kinda like a mirage. Here today and gone tomorrow. You should stop by and say hello when visiting Chicago on tour.

I too have been tardy.
I am in Customer Service at TDCanada Trust. The only thing that makes me go to work each day is the summer plans I make and the vacations that take me south in the winter. (yesterday at work I was reading BN which is not allowed and on the pumped in music they played Come Monday and Weather With You back to back......WWY was not by him but still!!!!) Does that not show you the power that BN produces.........please don't squeal on me
I would like to live in Key West or St. Maarten. Never been to Hawaii (yet) nor California, but they would probably due as well.

OK, Question of the Day for Thursday:
Name a person you have never met (other than Jimmy) who you would like to have an hour conversation with.
Mine would be either Bob Woodward (author of lots of stuff including "All the President's Men" or Thomas Friedman (also author of lots of stuff including The World is Flat"
With the former, I am a political junkie, and he has been a pioneering political writer for over 30 years. With the latter, his insights into our position in the world are fascinating, and I would love to have him teach me more about the Middle East, and share his latest insights.
OK, now that I have bored all of you, who would you choose?

Hmmmm, I've already met Cindi and Larry......maybe Penny or Molly or Lisa?ejr wrote:OK, Question of the Day for Thursday:

Oh, they don't have to be from BN?
Richard Branson, Jerry Seinfeld, Henry Aaron, Mary Tyler Moore, Neil Armstrong? So many choices from all over the map, but I think I'd go with Tom Brokaw (sorry, Garry
Plus, in that hour, I think we'd toss back a beer or two.
and after all that beer, maybe I'd have enough courage to walk over to Mary Tyler Moore's table....

Question of the Day:
DO the people need to be Dead or Alive?
I'd love to talk to Al Capone and more so Bugsy Siegel. They are both dead however but hearing about the birth of Vegas would be "hellacool". The answer isn't worldly or inspiring
Alive - Michael Jordan - I'd love to Golf with him. I'd love to get womanizing tips from Bill Clinton. I'd like to meet the head of the FBI.
I'd like to meet Steve Wynn - Casino owner. I'd like to meet Robert Iger CEO of Disney.
