It will probably be somewhere between 135000 to 140000 seats, an even bigger crap loadicarus wrote:The obvious reason for so many seats being available is the fact that 2 nights at Gillette is like 4 nights at Great woods. I will most likely steer clear of the Stadium lots. I have also booked two rooms at the ever so Shady Endzone Motel right down the road.jimsig wrote:I am not 100% sure but the lot opening time may be due to an agrement between the Krafts and the town. Those who know the area know exactly the dive I'm talking about. Actually, the sports bar isn't that bad.

I'm not sure if keeping people out before 3:00 would be a wise idea. Unless they were to call everyone who's going and order them not to come before 3:00 or so, it just won't work. People are going to come early regardless, just like the football games. If they have no where to go, especially those coming long distances then they wil just be a nuisance to Foxboro, Walpole, Sharon, etc.jimsig wrote:I am not 100% sure but the lot opening time may be due to an agrement between the Krafts and the town. It's to thier bennefit to let people in and stay put for the day.
I've heard those late entry rumors before for Great Woods and they've never been true. Besides, What makes this crowd worse than a Football crowd? And the tailgaiting starts at noon or earlier sometimes for an 8:00pm game.

wow these tickets are awful i'll wait till later on, with so many seats supply and demand will take over, i would advise against grabbing tix thinking you will have no problem unloading them as many will agree, at fenway tix were going for 50 cents on the dollar at show time, bring your binoculars, to see the screen
I dunno guys...most of us have seen Jimmy at smaller (and better) venues in the past twenty or so years...why in heck would you want to spend this kind of money to see him in a ballpark?bixxx wrote:wow these tickets are awful i'll wait till later on, with so many seats supply and demand will take over, i would advise against grabbing tix thinking you will have no problem unloading them as many will agree, at fenway tix were going for 50 cents on the dollar at show time, bring your binoculars, to see the screen
Since so little has actually changed in his shows in recent years, I don't understand the draw.
I mean, Great Woods has a tradition and a charm to it...Gillette Stadium?? They play football there...
Long and the short of it...if Jimmy doesn't play Jones Beach this year (which I don't expect he will), I'm definitely giving his show a pass this year.

All I know is that the Fenway show sold out in about 2 minutes. I may not be speaking for the majority, but I'm one of those people who likes having tickets in-hand prior to going to a show. It may be that people just don't bother going to shows as much without tickets. Hell, I wouldn't want to go and take a chance with some scalper. That's just not enjoyable to me. I'm sure more times than not, scalpers have more seats than they can unload at their outrageous prices.bixxx wrote:wow these tickets are awful i'll wait till later on, with so many seats supply and demand will take over, i would advise against grabbing tix thinking you will have no problem unloading them as many will agree, at fenway tix were going for 50 cents on the dollar at show time, bring your binoculars, to see the screen
I remember the conversation coming up about Fenway amongst people and the general feeling was, that it wasn't worth bothering to go the day of the show, there won't be any seats and the scalpers will be selling for high amounts. It sounds like that wasn't the case (I never went there), and some may have lost their shirts. Sometimes the hype of a big show is enough to make people think they don't even have a chance of getting in, so they don't bother, especially the day of.
I do believe trying to sell 120,000 or so seats is a tall order for any artist.

The last show @ Merriweather Post, the lots didn't open 'til 5:00 pm or so. Security said it was because of all the problems in the lot b/4 the show. The only problem was, all the, er, partiers were all over town . In shopping centers, office parks etc. It's better to keep all the partiers in one place.icarus wrote:I'm not sure if keeping people out before 3:00 would be a wise idea. This doesn't preclude a Mac show does it ? If Mac is playing somewhere, you gotta go to that.BSHERRIS wrote:I dunno guys...most of us have seen Jimmy at smaller (and better) venues in the past twenty or so years...why in heck would you want to spend this kind of money to see him in a ballpark?bixxx wrote:wow these tickets are awful i'll wait till later on, with so many seats supply and demand will take over, i would advise against grabbing tix thinking you will have no problem unloading them as many will agree, at fenway tix were going for 50 cents on the dollar at show time, bring your binoculars, to see the screen

We're coming from out of the area but camping nearby. Which of the private lots are best & how close to the stadium are they ? And do they allow RV's ?jimsig wrote:I am not 100% sure but the lot opening time may be due to an agrement between the Krafts and the town. There are private lots up and down Rt 1. I think a few of the lots do allow RV parking. I think the ones that do have signs saying it.Tropic_Al wrote: We're coming from out of the area but camping nearby. Which of the private lots are best & how close to the stadium are they ? OK heres the big question. Is this pre sale for season ticket holders at Gillette ONLY I do believe some years ago this happened and anyone that was not a season ticket holder had the orders cancelled

I wouldn't doubt it if those lots charged rates from $50 and up (usually it's about $20 to $30 on game days).jimsig wrote:I am not 100% sure but the lot opening time may be due to an agrement between the Krafts and the town. If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

As far as I know, it doesn't matter as long as you entered in the password and it didn't even ask you if you were a season ticket holder. If it did, then it should have been stated on the Ticketmaster web site that this was for season ticket holders and all orders otherwise would be cancelled. Since there was no notification, I think they won't.RAGTOPMAN wrote:OK heres the big question. I'll probably go to Gillette. But I am very disapointed that he's not at Great Woods. Great Woods blew away Fenway in my opinion for a variety of reasons. Friends, I am very glad I have the memories from over 30 years of Buffett shows, because I can see the end of my battling for tickets coming up fast. I have attended over 40 shows over the years, Great Woods is the best venue I have seen him at and if I am rambling so be it, I am just so fed up with whole thing.

That was the case seats going for below face we picked up field, front section, face the day before
people buying upwards of 10 tix are going to freak when the cc bill comes in, there friends start with the old, "that's kind of a lot of money, i will let you know later"
Fenway did sell out real quick, but they only sold 1/2 the tickets that day they held alot back for season ticket holders, employees, distribution partners etc.. and they were the better seats
even at GW this year many face value tix in the lot and noone wants to eat tix upwards of 160 a piece
see you all there will research a good lot, there are so many that you need to make plans before hand to meet up, as they will force you into lots if you are heading north on 1, or south on 1, allow for 2 hours to get out unless you leave early, many lots are 20 min walk
thinking of foregoing the rv and hooking up with a bus

Season ticket holders and season ticket waiting list members (like myself) get the password. I got the password e-mailed to me like I do for all of these events (pats games, concerts, etc.), but it literaly showed up in my e-mail about 15 minutes before 10:00 am. Quite honestly, if I didn't just happen to check my e-mail I would have known nothing. They used to give it out a few days earlier, but what was happening was exactly what happened yesterday, the password leaks out and the rest is history, but days before.RAGTOPMAN wrote:OK heres the big question. I'm not sure if they can actually get a handle on who is actually ordering tickets. Keep in mind the waiting list is over 60,000 people and the season tickets are another 60,000+. Also, who's to say where the tickets are being mailed and purchased from and being sent to. For example, for whatever reason Joe season ticket holder doesn't want to used his own credit card, and also wants the tickets mailed to a different address than the one that the Patriots have. How would the Patriots/ Gillette know this? I think by giving the password out as late as possible they've done all they can do. The only other way would be to give out individual passwords for 120,000 people, and that is most likely not going to happen. One year I think it did for a play off game. To get tickets I had to use my Patriots Id # and password.
I think logistically this is probably too cumbersome of an ordeal for any ticket management system to take on. Again, just my opinion.
In the end, with any such venture the ultimate goal is to sell tickets. Although Jimmy is a popular artist, there is still a risk in booking a 65,000 seat stadium x 2 and not getting the seats filled. I think the handlers at Gillette probably get upset to a degree when the password leaks, but on the otherhand, the hype does help sell the seats - which is what they are concerned with.
Talking to you is like clapping with one hand.

For pre-sale, the venue sets aside a certain amount of tickets for pre-sale. If those sell out, then the whatever is left gets sold. If there are extra tickets from the pre-sale, then they get added back into the mix for sale.CANADIANPARROTHEAD wrote:yeah ok, so I come home yesterday at 6 pm and see an email from live nation with the info on the tickets....I put in the password and looks as though its sold out?
