I'm not sure if they can actually get a handle on who is actually ordering tickets. Keep in mind the waiting list is over 60,000 people and the season tickets are another 60,000+. Also, who's to say where the tickets are being mailed and purchased from and being sent to. For example, for whatever reason Joe season ticket holder doesn't want to used his own credit card, and also wants the tickets mailed to a different address than the one that the Patriots have. How would the Patriots/ Gillette know this? I think by giving the password out as late as possible they've done all they can do. The only other way would be to give out individual passwords for 120,000 people, and that is most likely not going to happen. One year I think it did for a play off game. To get tickets I had to use my Patriots Id # and password.
I think logistically this is probably too cumbersome of an ordeal for any ticket management system to take on. Again, just my opinion.
In the end, with any such venture the ultimate goal is to sell tickets. Although Jimmy is a popular artist, there is still a risk in booking a 65,000 seat stadium x 2 and not getting the seats filled. I think the handlers at Gillette probably get upset to a degree when the password leaks, but on the otherhand, the hype does help sell the seats - which is what they are concerned with.

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

I also believe the Krafts get a kick back from the private lots owners as well. I remember it being a sticking point when they opened the new stadium. The town may also place limits on how much the lots can charge. I am not 100% sure about that.aeroparrot wrote:I wouldn't doubt it if those lots charged rates from $50 and up (usually it's about $20 to $30 on game days).jimsig wrote:I am not 100% sure but the lot opening time may be due to an agrement between the Krafts and the town. They've said the same thing about the lots near Fenway. I remember last year that some lots near Fenway were charging $90 per car to park there when the Yankees were in town and were $30 when every other team was here.jimsig wrote:I also believe the Krafts get a kick back from the private lots owners as well. It it appears it looks as if the presale was others as well. I got the Live Nation email as well later on in the day. In the past they have also done presales for Foxboro residents and you needed a Foxboro mailing address to qualify.RAGTOPMAN wrote:OK heres the big question. And in some cases, like this past season's playoffs, they would restrict the addresses to the state.jimsig wrote:It it appears it looks as if the presale was others as well. Jimmy did that with the New Orleans show in Dec a few years back. You needed to live in certain states.aeroparrot wrote:And in some cases, like this past season's playoffs, they would restrict the addresses to the state.jimsig wrote:It it appears it looks as if the presale was others as well. I can't imagine they'll cancel any of the presale orders, and I wouldn't be surprised if more tickets are released for the presale. This isn't the playoffs where they could sell 5-10 times the number of tickets available. This is two Buffett shows with a HUGE number of tickets to sell in a big stadium. Even though some of the ticket prices for these shows are more manageable than the $126, it's a lot of tickets to sell. After the Fenway concert-day losses for scalpers (same thing happened at Wrigley), I'll be very interested to see if these shows sell out.

As I posted before. You did not have to be a season ticket holder. I got an email from Live Nation at 4PM that gave me the code. I wonder if they released the code to season ticket holders first, the put it out to others later in the day.CTParrothead763 wrote:My credit card company shows a charge by Ticketmaster for the tickets we purchased for 9/2. Although the tickets aren't yet in hand, I take this as a very good sign that you didn't have to be a Pats season ticket holder to be in the presale.
If they had wanted to they could have give unique codes to everyone. That's what the Best Buy did with the Police tickets. U2 also did it with their Fan Club the entire last tour.

I just checked... the 9/8 show was out of tix but the 9/2 show still has plenty. In the B sections on the floor and beyond the 50 yard line for the stadium seats.aeroparrot wrote:ONLY the presale. I went to the Fenway show and it was special because of the venue. I won't be going to Gillette to sit with 60,000+ of my "phriends"

Really? 9/2 is still available? I heard people say that they couldn't get tickets for that show.SuperTrooper wrote:I just checked... the 9/8 show was out of tix but the 9/2 show still has plenty.
