What I was thinking for the 1st, possible dinner in the North End. Maybe getting some drinks at Boston Beer Works. There is one near Fenway and one near North Station (probably better bet for North Station on if we go to the North End). If anyone hasn't seen the city, I can give a general tour of it.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Also, the Sox are home against Toronto after Labor Day. I highly recommend checking out Fenway and the area . . . even if you can't get tickets. There are some pretty good bars and some damn good live music, usually, out in back of the monstah and down Brookline Ave. It is sort of a poor man's Mardi Gras when the Sox are home with the roads basically shut down and loose open container laws . . . just be careful.aeroparrot wrote:What I was thinking for the 1st, possible dinner in the North End. There are also ferries that leave Boston for Cape Cod and the islands in and outside of Boston Harbor. If people are coming up to the area for a few days it is a great time of year to be here.
I also agree with Aero - gotta hit the North End . . . and then grab a cab and head over to the Bull and Fitch Tavern and bar hop from there (maybe get a pint of Guiness at the Black Rose).
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Let me know when you get in on the 7th. I'll PM you my phone numbers. Depending on when you get in on the 7th, I may be able to stay later at work that day and meet you somewhere.TommyBahama wrote:I'm heading to the Cape the 1st weekend Friday...Sat.....Possibly Boston the following Friday nightdrunkpirate66 wrote:Also, the Sox are home against Toronto after Labor Day. Awesome. And if people want to come down to Nantucket I would be more than happy to have a little bbq and maybe a little sail or something. Ferry is easy and flying out of Barnstable is easier and about the same price (assuming you aren't taking the slow ferry; that is very inexpensive). Fly over - man it is a great experience and we can all raid the bars and rip it up Buffett style. Which means drinking.aeroparrot wrote:Let me know when you get in on the 7th. Check your PM. Best number to call is the cell phone if it is the late afternoon/early evening. I usually have that on vibrate/silent mode during the day but if I see phone "ringing" I will pick up. If not, just leave me a message and I'll call you backTommyBahama wrote:will do...i'll know more when it gets closer.....it's only a 2 hour drive for me....it would be late afternoon or evening!!!aeroparrot wrote:Let me know when you get in on the 7th. After the night out, I'm going to head over to the hotel to check in. Don't want to have a repeat of last year when I had to make it from Norwood, MA to the Shaws in Mansfield in 15 minutes (normally a 30 minute ride).TommyBahama wrote:NO..NO...NO.....Girls/Ladies/Women are most definitely welcome...non have jumped into the conversation yet or until now...and I'll send out a personal invitation to all you ladies!!!ScarletB wrote:Excuse me, but is this turning into boy's night out?? Awww, Tommy you're so sweet, I was just funnin' ya! It's a LONG ways away, although last year we started counting at 100 days and before we knew it , it was the day before! Besides, when you have to book hotels and stuff it's good to do it early.

Yea, I hear you. If you do get inside Yawkey Way (you would need a ticket) you can have an open container (well, not exactly -- you will be given the beer in plastic cups) because you are considered to be "within Fenway Park".drunkpirate66 wrote:Also, the Sox are home against Toronto after Labor Day. I was referring to Lansdown . . . yes Yawkey is inside the park now which I think is great . . . especially for those people who own Whos On First. The bars down on Lansdown are some of the best I have ever been to for any pre sporting event partying. Such much fun.aeroparrot wrote:If you do get inside Yawkey Way (you would need a ticket) you can have an open container (well, not exactly -- you will be given the beer in plastic cups) because you are considered to be "within Fenway Park".drunkpirate66 wrote:Also, the Sox are home against Toronto after Labor Day.
