read the book in 5th grade!!!! the whole class was like that! The ad campaign makes it out to be a hobbit or narnia movie, its not its more of a coming of age love story for pre-teens. The monsters are all in their heads....and thats not giving away anything.

Anna Sophia Robb is an amazing little actress. She was also in the American Girl Samantha movie and in Because of Winn Dixie. :D

One of my co-workers took her 8 year old this weekend and he was crying and very upset about it. She said it was way too deep for him.
Gentilly ... 42 years is a long time to wait .... a Northeast Texas woman can hope.

I'd think 8 would be a little too young for this story...more like 10. There's a great deal of difference between a third grader and a 5th grader.

My son (12) and his friends went to see it this weekend while I was in St. Thomas.....
He called me on the ship to tell me how sad it was, he was very upset about the movie. Maybe the rating should be raised, it seems to get the kids too much. I don't think it's good for them. I personally haven't seen it, but do not want to now that everyone is so upset....I can watch the news for that.
