Too bad Styx is down to only two orginal members. Ever since they kicked out Dennis DeYoung-- Styx hasn't been the same.

Led Zeppelin is still a RUMOR, as it has been for years now.

That is correct....unless something changes from last year. Gramm's voice is shot IMHO! Too bad, he used to have one of the best R&R voices in the biz!

And I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. Styx wasn't really Styx until Tommy Shaw came on board IMHO! His talents really kicked up the band a notch!
Asia was definitely a talented band...saw them live back in the day. Heard they were going back out on the road....verrrry interesting!

Sadly Jason Bonham has sunk to the depths of drumming for Foriegner but I guess everyone has to make a buck somehow.

I heard some stuff from Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades the other day on XM that actually didn't sound that bad, I think it was a Yes cover.

I wouldn't go to this for free. That's a lot of bad music.

i agree. plus those bands really came out in the 70's. i'm just a bit older than you monument.
great eighties bands would be b-52's, pretenders, dire straits, joe jackson, squeeze, huey lewis & the news. i guess the more i think about it the great bands of the 80's had it going in the 70's also.....stones, led zep, allman brothers, skynard, zz top, outlaws, bonnie raitt, stevie ray vaughn, i could go on...

I picked up the Shaw/Blades CD years ago and didn't care for it, but it wasn't what I expected. I thought it would be in the STYX, Night Ranger, Damn Yankees power rock mode, and it was more acoustic and mellow. I have to dig it out. It was probably decent, but not what I was looking for/expecting at the time.

How about this, about 7 years ago my wife and I caught a show at the Meadowlands which we have since dubbed "The Old, Fat and Bald Tour".
Survivor, Loverboy, Rick Springfield and Eddie Money.

Asia is actually an 80s band.

There was no Skynyrd in the 80s until they reunited in 1987 for the anniversary of the plane crash. That version of Skynyrd has never even come close to the promise of the original band which is kinda hard to do when the heart and soul of the group perished in the plane crash.
