When I told Lorrie that we were signed up for porta potties she kinda started turning green and wanted to get sick - I guess she's not quite over last years deal... I calmed her down and she's Ok with one, but do you think we'll need more?? She'll probably be OK if she doesn't have to follow any on the highway....
If you guys can cover the margarita machine with table, generator, cups and mix, you're good. Anything else you want to bring is fine too. The portapotties are still questionable at this point, especially if we park up north where the restrooms are. That's still TBD but I'll let you know.

How about a case of beer and a few big bags of chips?

Here are some pictures for anyone wondering what Stew is talking about. I can call the guy I used last year, but I don't think he'll want to fight the traffic up there. He delivered them the day before the concert last year and his place is near Fair Park.

That's it?

Seems a little TOO easy, but OK, works for us!

It's supposed to be easy for the people flying in - that's the whole point.

Below is an email my hubby sent our season ticket rep for Pizza Hut Park:

I just looked at the Jimmy day schedule for the parking. It says the lots will open at 2pm. I don't know how many Jimmy shows you guys have been to, but that is going to cause a riot. I'm not kidding. You guys are going to have 100 giant RV's wanting in the lot at 9-10am. And you will park at least 500 more cars by noon.

I ask you to pass this on to the decision makers over there or yall will have about 20,000 very angry people on your hands.

His response:

We are still working on those details as far as I know...our staff was planning to tailgate starting at around 10am so I am pretty sure we are looking at an earlier start time. I'll pass your feedback on.
Thanks.
Well, thank God someone passed this on to them..........I got really worried when I read 2:00 PM and yes, there would be a riot and many angry people - they don't know Buffet fans............Maybe all of us should make a phone call and that would surely get their attention. Heck, if you start at 2 - by the time you get everything set up and cooking done - there's too little time to party and see all your other friends!.........I'm for the 9:00 am start!

IF THERE IS SOMETING SPECIFIC LET ME KNOW WE WILL BE 6 STRONG AND HAVE TWO TRUCKS, SOO, THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR EVERYTHING. I AM ALSO BRINGING A GRILL JUST BECAUSE WE NEVER COME TO A TAILGATE WITHOUT ONE(you never know what will happen) AND IF NEEDED WE AHVE TWO MORE CANOPY'S AND SEVERAL CHAIRS. JUST TELL US WHAT WE ARE IN NEED OF AND YOUR WISH SHOULD BE GRANTED.
Since you have truck space, how about 2 or 3 plastic kiddie pools stacked together with the top one full of ice in bags. That way people flying in can just show up with beer and throw it in the pools. Also a couple of 30 gallon + trash cans would help if you have room.
THAT IS A BIG CAN DO!!! JUST I POOL FULL OF ICE AND 2 EMPTY. TRACH CANS AND BAGS ARE ON THE WAY. OH AND BY THE WAY I AM +3

Bill - I will be +1 for sure, hubby's going! :) With a possible 2 more, won't know for sure until next week.

Not sure if we will be driving my little SUV or the hubby's truck. But we will definitely be bringing lots of stuff (food, drinks, paper products, etc). Let me know what specifically we still need to bring.

Christine - I did a quick (and thoroughly unscientific) rate check this morning. Went to the website for 3 of the hotels mentioned and this was the lowest rate I found.....

Holiday Inn Express .... 113
Embassy Suites .... 139
Hampton Inn .... 99

All have complimentary breakfast (ES is made-to-order) and all appear to have high speed internet access.
