It has to be Hawaii. I have a picture of paradise in my head and a daydream of traveling back in time and taking the Clipper from San Fran to Hawaii.
Island girls with lays & kisses would great me upon my landing and I would truely be home.
However if you go make it one of the smaller islands and get a feel of the place before the Pineapple Kings and the US Navy forever changed the place.
Stay away from the Copters taking the tourist on sightseeing trips as they seem to be falling out of the sky as of late.

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

I could agree with that, PROVIDED the thread starter could also go to St. Barts when Jimmy does, etc.Snowparrot wrote:Jimmy goes to Vegas in October; why wouldn't you?
If Jimmy could only have a vacation trip every once in a while, and was forced to work a "day job" year round, the answer to the question " What would Jimmy Buffett Do?" , would be:
HAWAII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to go with ANYWHERE but Hawaii! And since the choices are Hawaii or Las Vegas, I would take Las Vegas. Hawaii, especially Honolulu and Maui are so overbuilt and so crowded with tourist that it has lost its appeal to me. Everything costs a fortune and service tends toward the surly side if you can get it.
If you opt for Hawaii, skip Oahu and Maui and go to Kauai where the pace of life is slow and you can get away from it all. There's great hiking, golf, tennis, beautiful beaches, tropical jungles, some great surfing and lots of easy going people.
