I think I'm heading up to Blacksburg in March to see a friend and spend a couple of days. I've only been up there once before for a day and a half and it rained the whole time. Where should I go? What should I do? Where should I eat?

Hate to point this out B.R. but whenever you're doing a roadtrip you're always wanting to know WHERE TO EAT!  You should be asking WHERE TO DRINK!! [smilie=yum.gif]

Just harassing you dude, while you're there take some notes cause I'd like to do a roadie to catch a Hokie football game sometime and I'll want to know WHERE TO DRINK!! 8) Later.

I love to eat as much as I love to drink! You can tell both from my figure. 8) Most of the time, I'm traveling with people that are not big drinkers and so I usually just grab a beer or 2 wherever we go to eat. And usually anywhere I go, I can find something that I like to drink. Food is much more specific to the location.

Your headed my way finally huh? :)

You have to eat at Mike's Grill even if it is the only place you go up there. If you thought Litton's burgers were heaven try one of Mike's. The Calzones at Mike's are to die for as well.

Hokie House just 4 buildings down from Mike's is great too. Same type food as Mike's but more of a bar than a restaurant. Cheap Beer!

The Cellar also 4 buildings down from Hokie House has great Italian food but can get very crowded on the weekends.

Sharkey's next door to the Cellar used to be good but the food quality has dropped over the past couple of years. Cheap Beer!

If you and your buddy do not mind a 35 minute drive go to the Homeplace in Catawba. I can promise you will never have a better home cooked meal unless your mom or grandma made it. They are only open Thursday, Friday and Sat after 3pm and Sunday after 12.

It is all you can eat, Chicken, Roast Beef, Ham, Biscuits, Fruit Cobbler and two sides. You pick 2 meats for 12.00 or all 3 for 13.00 Drinks are included. If you leave that place hungry you didn't try hard enough :)

I will think of some more places in the next day or so.
